I returned 12.9 but it was easily the better one. I can't stomach paying more than 500 for an ipad though because it's so limited. Definitely not worth 1.3k plus. That's insane. For that money, get a Surface Pro as it's much more capable.
So it is a fact now right ? I was always perplexed with the question what do Apple stores in U.S do with so many customers returning open boxes units of the iPads ? so here it is, they all go to be sold as refurbished products is it ??
It’s still a tablet, just not a very portable one (for me). Which is a shame. I really liked that display.![]()
I don't see it as any less portable than the 11 inch. You still need a case. You still need a bag. So you may need a bag that's a bit bigger and a case that's a big bigger, but it's not any less portable. It is more hefty when using it in bed, but the extra screen space is worth it for me.
iPad Pro 12.9 feels comically big when using on my Couch like i mostly do. I will send it back and use my 10.5 Pro for another year.
I am only missing Face ID so its Not worth for me To Upgrade to the iPad Pro 11.
That’s good to hear. You do adjust to the size over a few days of using it.
You might want to give it some time, if you haven’t already. You do adjust to the size over a few days of using it. I thought that at first but now that I’m more used to the size I love having all that screen real estate. The major bonus is how easy the Apple folios are to remove, so I use naked if I’m not moving, which is really nice.

Boggles the mind they don't have a split keyboard mode for these iPads. I would use it all the time with the mini but some apps didn't play nice with it, probably because it isn't a universal feature. I have trouble typing with the 11" in portrait mode, I imagine it would be impossible for me with the 12".
I ordered both the new 12.9" and 11" to test them out for a couple of weeks before the return window. After my test with both, I returned the 12.9" and kept the 11". Heres why:
Sit down holding - While sitting down on my couch, I found the 11" to be easier to handle. I could hold it with one hand. While the 12.9", I could not hold it in one hand for any length of time because of the weight. I had to always hold the 12.9" with 2 hands.
Vertical typing - It was near impossible to type confortably typing on the 12.9" vertically. Without split keys, I found my thumbs were strained trying to reach the middle keys. With the 11", I could type fairly comfortably holding it in the veritcal position.
Summary: With that being said, I do miss the 12.9" because of the massive screen. Watching anything on it felt like a giant TV screen. I would say if you will be using it on a desk, the 12.9" will do wonders. But if you will be holding it most of the time, I recommend the 11".
Sadly, no. Don’t know why but it even says so on the link you provided. This feature doesn't work on the iPad Pros? https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT207521

It works if you use zoom mode - I have tried it - but who wants to use zoom mode. I will be shocked if this feature isn’t added in one of the next software updates. I feel it was just an oversight.
People should remember what they loved about the first tablets, being able to hold them in their hands and do simple fun things.
I just wish i could walk into a Apple store and a Best Buy, and find an iPad that did not have a keyboard attached, so i could just feel the iPad in my hand.
it took me a week to get used to the 12.9 (coming from an Air 2 9.8 model), now i love it.
I think buying a product just to return it is abusing the system. Eventually we will lose the convenience due to abuse.
I also remember how all my friends laughed at me when I bought the first Samsung Galaxy Note. They teased me for how big it was, now most of them have 8 Pluses or XS Max’s. People wanting smaller phones ended pretty quickly.
The bottom line is you get used to the size pretty quickly. I remember when I got the 6 Plus (on delivery day) I thought it was just obscene. It was bigger than the original Galaxy Note. I left work that day fully intending to swap it out for the 6 come Monday, but by the time Monday came around I had gotten use to the size and loved it.
I diaagree. It’s not abuse if the idea is to try both form factors out in real life use before settling on one. If one bought the 12.9 and then decided it’s not for them and returned it, that’s of course exactly what the system intended. The same customer could then buy the 11 inch to see if that worked better. It’s hardly an abuse to collapse the two steps into one.

Speak for yourself. I still want a smaller phone that can be efficiently and safely operated with one hand. There is no getting used to something that just won’t fit in your hand.
People are different.
I do appreciate the bigger form for the iPad. In fact, as the iPads have grown bigger, my wish for a smaller iPhone has also grown stronger. Different devices for different uses.
