Its a petty bad bug, I have had issues using the calculator. Im surprised its still there, still not fixed in 11.1 Beta 3.
Interesting how suppositions are clear conclusions of a conspiracy (as usual). Also interesting how various people said similar things about early versions of iOS 10, 9, 8, etc. as well--those who aren't really affected seems to essentially overlook that, but once they do get affected by something then they quickly jump to essentially the most fantastic conclusions that somehow have to be the only possible and right ones all of a sudden.Indeed Apple has slowed down the entire OS. Clearly it is optimized NOT for "older" devices but for the new ones with no regard for the older ones...if you have the nerve to call the iPhone 7 and/or 8 you just purchased "old".
This is the first iOS release where there are not just the odd "bug" (that should have been caught and corrected in beta prior to general release) BUT actually essentially crippled clearly to force upgrading.
I for one will be upgrading to another company with my next phone purchase. There is no excuse for this.

As I mentioned, completely overlooking all the same kinds of complaints in many threads in the early days of iOS 10, 9, 8, etc. On top of the usual hyperbolic absolute extremes in jumping to the most fantastical conclusions, just as was the case in most of those similar threads from those early iOS 10, 9, 8, etc. days. Talk about denial (and irony).Yes, it is clear. Never before has Apple put out something so clearly intended to force hardware upgrades. Period
ALL the previous versions of iOS were fully compatible with older equipment. You can be in denial all you want to facts are facts sir.
The built-in calculator is useless anyway. When you rotate it for “scientific” calculator mode, the mode of entry of calculations is archaic.
Modern calculators allow you to enter expressions so that they look like they look when they’re written down.
I just use the Wolfram Alpha app, unless I’m doing something basic like 12 x 19.

Did you try the 1+1+1 thing?I have absolutely no delay or anything else with the calculator app on my 6s. It is smooth and easy to use.
I suspect that those people who are having all these worse ever problems is a result of some or a combination of apps they are running and not IOS. I'll bet you if you traced all these threads back those who say IOS 11 is the worst and they want to go back to IOS 10 are the same people who last year said IOS 10 is the worst etc. etc.
Not sure how anything iOS related of this type would affect anything on a Mac, or how something that is related to touch-based animations would really translate.I thought I was the only one
It doesn't even work on my Mac
Are you really defending this? It’s a bad bug, what will you say when it’s fixed.. you don’t have to “try to type fast to mess up”. Regular speed leads to errors unless you type like a sloth.I have to try to type it quickly to get some calculations to get messed up, otherwise with normal typing it seems to work correctly pretty much every time for me.

Where am I defending or attacking anything again? I'm simply sharing an observation of my experience with it. Nothing more, nothing less. People certainly seem to like to add their own spin onto things that don't have any. (And by the way it's not like there's some "regular" speed for everyone that is the same. Not that that changes something about this for those that are experiencing it.)Are you really defending this? Apple is getting very sloppy with their software.
It's like they really don't care anymore.
Seems like just sharing your experience suddenly has to place you in either being for or against something.Beware! How dare you commit the sin of trying to defend Apple, aka the worst evil, worst company, worst operating system in the world! If you even try to hint at defending Apple, your credibility is instantly 0 and you will become the target for many. There is no greater sin than to say something positive about ... Apple.
(Sarcasm).

iOS 11 definitely made my 6s+ noticeably slow. Animations were jagged and Clash of Clans lagged like crazy when just before iOS 11 it ran perfectly. Not really sure what is going on. Most of the iOS updates seem to be near perfect near the xx.3 stage but out of all the iOS versions I’ve used - 11 seems to me to be the worst performance. They tried to force animations it seems... And in so doing made the phone laggy and not-smooth. My 8+ on iOS 11 doesn’t feel anywhere near as fast as 10.3.3 did on my 6s+. Here is to hoping that 11.3 returns us to that.
I use calculators daily in my line of work and we use them like keyboards. If this calculator does suffer from input lag like the home button, you have failed at the basic premise of a calculator.I have to try to type it quickly to get some calculations to get messed up, otherwise with normal typing it seems to work correctly pretty much every time for me.
