Yes that helped a lot. I am glad you gave me your opinion since you have a impressive collection.

Are all you iPods that are not sealed in very good condition?

iPod Collection

Here's my collection of sealed iPods. Only the 1st and 2nd gen are opened. Everything else is still sealed in its original box with plastic wrap or seal.

P.S. Looking for 4th gen color/photo 60gb. The one with the black box w/o "photo" written on it.

Wow! Thats an amazing looking collection. You must have worked hard to get them all.
The older cardboard boxes are so much more interesting than the new plastic ones. Although the plastic ones look nice they just don't have the same charm as the different coloured older ones.
The only one that is a bit of a let down is the black and white 3G box.

Eh, not as good as some collections, but…

- iPod 1st Gen (5GB? Will have to check)
- iPod mini 1st Gen - Blue
- iPod nano 1st Gen - White
- iPod touch 1st Gen
- iPod touch 2nd Gen
- iPod touch 4th Gen
- iPhone
- iPod Shuffle 3rd Gen - Pink
- iPod Shuffle 4th Gen - Silver
- iPhone 4 - Black x2

Used to have (but sold):

- iPod 5th Gen - Black
- iPod nano 1st Gen - White
- iPod mini 1st Gen - Pink
- iPhone 3GS - Black x2

Wow! I can't imagine how much money you had to spend over the years to get all those sealed iPods in the box!

Just for collection, or waiting for 20 years then selling?

I personally am just starting but beginning to realize I prefer the "mint condition/open box" ipods with all the original accessories included. This way I can display them and show people how they work. Plus it is a good excuse for me not to spend so much money. But if I was wealthy, I would love to have your collection.haha

UPDATE!!
Just Got this in the Mail today...Will be adding more photos this weekend of my new collection

Thought I would get this SEALED 1st Generation iPhone 8GB off eBay this last weekend when I heard how valuable the 1st gen iPod classics are becoming. So maybe a collectors is 10 years???:D haha Either way it's kind of cool to have.

I got lucky tripping over this last weekend on eBay. My "best offer" was excepted for ONLY $****!!!

As of right now there are brand new original iphones without a box, accessories, etc selling for $***. And the guy has sold about 30 of them!!!!

So even now I could sell it for more than I payed, and not to a collector but to a user.

people were saying overtime the lithium battery will leak and probably ruin most of the stuff inside. Is that true?

As of now, I'm simply collecting as many as I can. My goal is to have one of every iPod classic (1st to 5th gen) in unopened/sealed condition. I figured that kind of collection doesn't exist so I started collecting to reach that goal. So if anyone on this thread is willing to help me out by selling one of their iPods that I don't have, that would be great. I'm looking for any 1st gens, 2nd gens, 10gb & 30gb 3rd gen, 60gb HP photo 4th gen, 60gb color 4th gen, 80gb white 5.5 gen, and any Harry Potter models. If anyone is interested, send me a PM.

Hey ijhaddish. Is your first gen iPod still brand new? I know you were looking for one a while ago. I would be willing to sell mine(just need to get the right price). I think you expressed interest a while back. It's brand new all accessories and iPod sealed with original shipping box. Also an early serial number. Only thing is no cellophane around the original box. I'd be scared to buy one with cellophane on it for obvious reasons!

It's pointless to collect anything besides the 1st generation in a series (well unless you are collecting them as a hobby and not for profit)

Look at comic books

you guys sound exactly like the kids I knew grewing up thinking that any sealed comic book was a good investment.

In 20 years, no one is going to give a crap about the 3rd generation ipod shuffle

Much like no one gives a crap about Spiderman #208

Even if its rare, it needs to have nostalgia/primacy to be worth something

Just a heads up from someone with an Uncle who owns/sells collectibles

I used to have a 4G Nano... wish I could tell you where it is. At any rate, I'm a big fan of the iPod Video, and just received a new 80Gb one in the mail the other day.

Here is a picture of the 30 and 80 gb side by side

Just a friendly reminder to fellow collectors that if you have a pic of your iPod complete/new in box, please watermark it.

(or any Apple Collectible for that matter)

It has been known that eBay scammers will download the pic to use on their fake auctions.

Thanks...
