I decided over the last few days to start collecting some old iPods so I searched through ebay and snatched a few good ones at great prices. I will add a pic when they all come in and I will add them in with my current iPods.

What I bought:

-1st Gen Nano 4GB White in excellent condition with new LCD for $42.50
-2nd Gen Nano 4GB in Red in good condition (couple of scratches/scuffs) for $36.34
-3rd Gen Classic 15GB in good/fair condition for $36
-2nd Gen Mini 4GB in Green mint condition with new battery for $33
Plus an Apple Firewire power brick plus cable for $12 off amazon in like new condition

Can't wait to get these in. All I want now is a 5th Gen iPod Video.

EDIT: Just bought a 30gig 5.5G in white for $89 off Amazon in very good condition. I really wanted a black but all the black ones on ebay were in iffy condition and were going for just as much anyway. The black 5.5G was my very first ipod I owned but I lost it 2 years ago and really wanted to get another one again.

As many of you probably are, I too am an iPod collector. It's hard to explain the feeling of getting a new iPod, eventhough you know there's no need for it:rolleyes:

...my iPhone is pretty much the only thing that gets use nowadays, but I still find myself trying to find a way to get the next one :D

Here's a thread to that you can creatively show your precious collection. I for one have my collection displayed as such...

3/21/08 EDIT: Some of you expressed interest in the stands my iPods are displayed on. I have some of these for sale if you see this thread: https://forums.macrumors.com/threads/446018/

3/22/08 EDIT: I've added a pic of my collection up to date and removed the previous picture.

I think i saw your collection on youtube.. :)

1x iPhone 4 black 16gb

1x iPod touch 2gen 8gb

GRAVEYARD :)

Classic stuff!!

I was once collecting iPhones (2G and 3G). Sell them both for an iPhone 4.

I might feel regret in selling those old generation iPhones since it is hard to find one in good condition.

Here's my current iPod collection :)

The silver nano was my first iPod. Oh the memories :) The black 30GB was my Dad's, but then he got an iPod Touch so he gave it to me (it currently does not hold a charge). The blue nano isn't exactly mine yet, it's my sister's and she never uses it so I conveniently took it for the picture. :p

I took the picture with an iPhone 3GS so I guess that counts as part of the collection also :)

iPod Was Apple's "Jumpstart"

I still have the original iPod shuffle (stick of gum) and it works fine. But it just sits in a drawer, most probably never to be used again.

My only other iPod is the "fatty" iPod Nano. It is my "workhorse" music player.

My "dream iPod" would simply be the iPod Nano 5G (camera, play videos, elegant form, clickwheel, etc.) with 32G of storage. I was horrified when the 6G Nano came out.... Apple marketeers have gutted the Nano in order to eliminate competition with the "Touch". The Nano was simply "too good" for its place in the Nano family.

So I'll just stick with my fatty until it stops working. Maybe by then we'll simply wear a "cloud helmet" that allows you to listen to your selected list of songs "from the cloud" directly into the brain.....

my ipod collection

I been obsessed with the smaller ipods so my collection consists of only the shuffles and the nanos. I got em all though I use my iPhone mostly because I always have my phone with me. :)

Mint 2Gen Mini (4Gb) Green iPod

Won this in a PTA Raffles a few years back. I took a lot of abuse from my kids that I decided to "collect" it. They've all gone through Shuffles and now have Touches and parents have later gen Nanos.

Anyone, would this help anyone fill out their collection?

Just a friendly reminder to fellow collectors that if you have a pic of your iPod complete/new in box, please watermark it.

(or any Apple Collectible for that matter)

It has been known that eBay scammers will download the pic to use on their fake auctions.

Thanks...

Thank-you.i think i came across some ebayers that did that.

----------

This is my entire collection. I posted here quite a while a go (I think it was about a year a go) in a picture gallery section in this forum. Under the thread Show your iPod RIG. My collection are growing larger and larger. This is my latest update.

The ones that I have outside the box doesn't have the box anymore. Or, maybe I accidentally damaged the box and threw it somewhere else. But, the ones that are boxed still has the iPod inside. I opened up the box to charge them once every 2 weeks so the original battery remains intact and holds charge.

I have a lot iPods sealed in box as I like to collect them very much. The most favorite iPod in my collection is the 3rd generation iPod with lights on the buttons. I am still using the 3rd generation 40GB model as my main iPod.

Also, not pictured are my 1st generation iPod that I bought in Cupertino back in December 2001. I have 2 sealed. My wife is using them for a presentation in Singapore so she bring those iPods along with her.

Any questions please just comment. I love to see other collectors here that are really enthusiasts about iPod. Share your thoughts!

Sorry for the poor iPhone 4 quality. Let me know if you guys want to see more pictures.

so if you want to sell any of them what would they be.my collection is growing but yours totally owns mines big time.i only have around 20ish ipods.

I think I'm going to sell my iPod touch and iPod classic. I hate to do it, but I really want something new. I'm either going to get a 32GB white Touch or a silver Classic. I just hate selling my iPods :(

Maybe I'll get a shuffle also to make me feel better haha.
