I just got my new iPhone 12 Pro on Friday. All was well, but then my phone calls started going straight to voicemail. Of course I checked to see if Do Not Disturb was on, but it wasn’t. I tried everything and eventually reset the network settings; that seemed to fix the issue - temporarily. The same issue happened yesterday, so I reached out to Apple AND to Verizon. Both ran diagnostic checks on my phone and found nothing wrong. I even popped out my SIM card ano put it back in, just in case. All was fine until I woke up this morning after fixing it yesterday, and the problem came back yet again. I toggled DND and a couple of other buttons, and that fixed it. For now.

Has anyone else had an issue like this? I’m thinking it’s an iOS 14 bug, but I could be wrong. I use sleep mode, so could there be a bug somewhere with that? It’s not that I get many calls (and I do let most go to voicemail), but it’s still a nuisance. Apple chat text support is no help, and they’re telling me to call Apple support. Any ideas?

I AM HAVING THE SAME ISSUE. This started happening as soon as I got my 12 Pro.

All calls go straight to voicemail - even those on my favorites list until I reset Network Settings and that fixes it until the next day.

Seems to be a bug relating with iPhone 12 and DND overnight because yesterday I fixed it by resetting network settings after turning on/off WiFi Calling/Silence Unknown Callers and again this morning my boss and wife can't call me. Removing SIM did not work. I had to reset network settings.

Verizon Wireless here as well.

Definitely a bug.

Tomorrow morning I'll try DND toggling to see if that does it.

I figured calling tech support for either Apple / Verizon would be a waste.

What's weird is I can call out no problem. But NO one can call me (on contacts/favorites/anyone).

I can only conclude this is an iPhone 12 Pro bug with iOS 14.1.

I ran a test - set DND to go from 9:45am to 9:50am. Didn't seem to cause it.

I have Roaming turned off this time around (only thing different). I guess I'll have to wait for overnight.

Running another test (same as above) with roaming on.

Must not be DND causing this. Either that or it needs to be "overnight" for the bug to start.

Turn off Silence Unknown Callers.

Silence Unknown Callers is off - always has been off. If two people have the same issue, I’m sure others must as well. Here’s hoping the next update fixes the bug.

Tomorrow morning I'll try toggling DND -- do you know what the couple of other buttons were that you toggled as well to fix? The only way I know to fix this is to reset network settings, lol.

I also toggled Cellular and WiFi. Maybe try each one-by-one and see which one works first? I have a Google Voice number, so I‘ll call from my iPad to my iPhone and do the same thing since I assume the bug will be back!

It happened AGAIN during the day. I toggled all of the buttons individually, and airplane mode seemed to fix it...for now. I spoke with an Apple tech who really was no help whatsoever, other than her being confused at why I didn’t have “Call Forwarding” as an option in the settings of my Phone app. (CDMA carriers don’t have that option in the app, FYI.) She said that if the issue comes back tomorrow, I should call them with my case number. This is the most (for me anyway) bizarre bug I’ve ever seen.

Yeah this bug is going to be hard to pin down. Soon as I can repeat it I'll let you know. Soon as it happens again to me I'll try what you did - airplane mode ftw.

This is going to be frustrating. Last 3 days my boss is the one who: "Why are my calls going directly to voicemail?" Yikes!

Yep. Did it this morning. Wife tried to call went straight to voicemail.

It is 6:38am. DND turns off at 6.

Toggled DND and airplane mode then she could call me again.

I spoke with a level 2 Apple Support tech today, who told me that people should report it if they have it happening. (I got into it with him when he suggested that people posting in forums are not verifiable sources. My point to him: why in God‘s name would someone misreport something like this?) He had me install a profile on my phone so, when it happens, I could send the logs to them and then verify what happened: what time, where, etc. Let’s see if that works. Perhaps iOS 14.2 will be out soon and will fix the bug, lol.

I put in a feedback request but I'm not sure I did it in the right place... never done one before. I think it's linked to my Apple Dev account? :p - Tried to put in as much info as possible.

Just had my wife test 8:31pm. Went to voicemail. I’ve got dnd at 7pm. I think it’s related to dnd. Airplane mode toggle and it fixed it.

Definitely a dnd bug.

Agreed - definitely related to DND and Airplane mode. I haven't heard back from support about my bug report that I filed this morning. They should have the analytics, so I hope it's fixed in 14.2.

Without DND?! Really!!!!

This morning I woke up and had my wife give me a call - my phone was accepting calls. So last night's 8:31pm airplane mode pinpoints when the issue started for me - at least I think so.

Seems to happen with a DND initiation ?

I really hope a future iOS versions fix this because those of us who actually use our phone as a phone - this isn't good lol.

Didn’t do it for me yesterday night or this morning. !!! <shrug> My dnd and alarm are same for weekend and weekdays.

Maybe they fixed it? Lol

I made an appointment at Verizon today. They gave me a new 5g SIM card - no cost no questions no problem. The lines on the gold part is different than the one I got from Apple. Tonight and tomorrow we will see for sure!

I’m having the same issue since i switched from iPhone 11 Pro to 12 pro, all incoming calls are going straight to voicemail. Outgoing is fine.

not related to carrier i believe, as my wife and kids are on the same carrier with no issues. Tried everything so far, and think it might be related to esim. I put in a physical sim from another carrier, and incoming works fine.

Are you guys who are having issues, using esim or physical sims?

Quick Update
Issue resolved after talking with Freedom Mobile. Level 2 stated the following had to be done:
————
Freedom CSR:
I've removed the calls feature on your line as well as the LTE calls and re added it again.
But this can't be done from your end it can only be done from the provider's end.
————
Maybe mention the above comments to your carrier CSR and see if they can do the same. Since i got the phone, i was not able to receive a single call, however after he had this change, calls finally came thru.
Also note i am using e-sim from my carrier, and also have a physical sim for my business line (another carrier - Bell). Lastly i restored from iphone 11 Pro iCloud backup, maybe it was related.

I did the same thing, they told me moving my sim card from my 11 to my 12 is why i was having issues. They said the 5G phones need a 5G SIM card and that you can’t move your 4G sim to a 5G phone

I ordered my iPhone direct from Apple with sim installed. So whatever sim they put in there wasn’t right. The Verizon guy said “oh another one” when he asked what phone I had. Must be common??? Lol.
