They're definitely practical, I would go with the leather option myself, but i prefer the leather sleeve cases because it allows for me to use the phone naked when in use and fully protected when not. Apple cases are definitely easier and more practical for those who are out-and-about often and also use their phone very frequently. The downside to the way i do things is there's that added element of withdrawing and depositing the phone in a case with each use.I've ordered two Apple silicone cases for my iPhones. I've liked the grippiness of the silicone and how well they last and protect my iPhones in the past.
to be honest i think i realized that i actually dont like screen protectors. The edge-to-edge ones are a bit better, but the bulkiness it adds to the phone means it wouldn't allow me to put the phone in the $150 case i already bought. Alas, I'll just be going with no screen protection and will be super careful about always putting it back in the case. I also am not going to let anyone use my phone, i did that with the X and my soon to be brother-in-law cracked the back and front glass with a single drop lolJust order a bunch of protectors on Amazon, return the ones that are a bad fit. I ordered a couple others in addition to the Spigen one just in case.
I've done this for a brief time with older iphones, like my 7+ that was in mint condition and my previous phone before the X. After I sold the X i started using it as a buffer till I get the Max and i had used it without protection for 3-4 weeks. I did so much physical damage to that phone my resale value dropped a solid $300. I'm not so concerned about resale value for the max because ill keep it for 2 years regardless, but i also don't want to walk around with a beat up phone for years. For me the sleeve case is the best of both worlds.I actually seldomly use a case and never a screen protector.
