These are all the reasons I just don't bother doing this.

Like I said I didn't have to switch the sim to another phone or call At&t. As of right now I'm still able to send and receive mms.

One thing I did notice that with 3g off the messages weren't going through fast. Once I switch to 3g boom! It would go through.

I didn't have the message plan on my account, so I called AT&T to add it. They added the wrong one (the non-iPhone one) and I never bothered changing it. Now I realized that's the right one, since the iPhone one blocks MMS. Yum. Of course I haven't found anyone to MMS to since email is essentially free.

I did the hack, and can send out pictures just fine, It doesn't seem to recieve them though, still playing around with it though.

I had to put the sim card in another non-iphone, and it took a few tries to get a pic to send out. then when it finally went, I put the card back in my iphone, and it worked fine sending out.

Do I need to put the sim card back in the non-iphone, and receive a few pics also to get that to work? or should everything work all at once??

UPDATE - I received a picture, looks great. But after trying a few more times, it doesn't seem to work all the time. It hangs up, and get the little red exclamation marks, saying the pic won't go thru. Not sure if it is going to work very well or not right now.

it seems the whole switch sim card to another MMS-capable phone doesnt last for very long. It's better to call your rep and either switch your texting plan or try to get them to enable WAP Push

Day three after I hacked my carrier file and its still working without at&t blocking it. Hope you people waiting for mms get it real soon.;)

I tried it with my 3g and never got it to work, now with my 3gs its working pretty good. I don't even email stuff anymore.:)

Well I am able to tether with no problems, I did exactly what was said to do, but I can not send any picture messages... ugh... oh well... I guess that Ill have to wait until the release date.

tethering could be key

so I have 2 iPhones on my account. On one, I got MMS working but it wouldn't work on the other. I have the family plan messaging option set.

Then on the other phone, after updating to the ipcc file listed on page one, I enabled tethering. Did that for a minute or two, and then tried MMS. voila! it worked..

so maybe that's the key to it

So I got the file uploaded and the option shows up in my iPhone now but of course gets stuck right at the very end.

Thank goodness my wife has a regular phone so I popped my SIM card into that.

What do I need to do at this point just let it sit in the nokia she has for a couple hours (hopefully less she wasn't too thrilled with me using her phone like this) and then send some texts? Whats the best course of action at this point?

I get that too. Just wait a few more seconds...make sure you have at least two bars on Edge. If you have to reboot the phone. Should work.

Well I have a 3G not the original one or did you mean two bars on her nokia?

Also I did reboot the iPhone before I tried to send a message (mind you I attempted to send an MMS BEFORE I put the SIM in my wife's nokia)

No. I meant reboot the iphone. It will work. Just be a tad more patient...

I have the 3G as well.
