Works perfect! (MMS, BT Tethering, mass texting)

Followed directions as posted and nada in Central California. ipcc file v. 5.1, reset network settings, rebooted phone.... MMS still stalling out near the end of the progress bar.

This is a problem for everyone that has a block on their account, like every iphone account. You have to call and have them enable WAP Push on your account or try to get them to switch to a family texting plan. I've heard that works sometimes.

When you say mass texting, do you mean mass texting WITH MMS enabled? Before when i tried to mass text with MMS enabled it stalled, so i would actually have to disable MMS to do it successfully.

Sorry to bother you guys with another MMS thread but this one is a little different. I've had MMS working since around January and in June the updated carrier file came out with the new MMS icon to send MMS and it worked well. Well today i restored my phone as a new phone and downloaded the carrier file and am running it on 5.0 but there is no MMS icon, what can i do to fix it does anyone know, thanks in advance for the help.

Edit - If you want the latest hacked/updated carrier file 5.1 (includes MMS and Tethering) follow this link:

http://rapidshare.com/files/255854728/ATT_US.ipcc.html

Download the file, run terminal and input the following message

defaults write com.apple.iTunes carrier-testing -bool TRUE

The reason you have to put in that message is because the latest itunes doesnt let you choose any .ipcc file but after you enter it, it will allow you to choose it as a restore point.

So after you enter the message, option + click on the restore button and locate the 5.1 .ipcc file and open it and let it load. After it loads, restart your phone. You'll notice when you go into network settings, you'll have the choice to turn tethering on, and under messages you'll see MMS enabled along with the MMS icon next to the entry field. Whether MMS works on your phone or not is whether or not there is a block on your account for MMS.

Does this carrier file work for windows? or is it just for mac? I downloaded the file but when I try to open it , it says windows can not open this file.

It does work for windows but you have to type in that terminal command, i forget which program it is on windows. Once you enter it you have to shift+click restore and find the file.

That's what I don't get. I followed your link, downloaded it, went to iTunes, I hit cntrl+shift and boom carrier file was there for me to update. I didn't have to input it in the terminal command. It work for me on windows. It's been a week since I got it working.

What settings do you have under Cellular Data Network?

have 2 iphones & 1 regular phone on our account, unlimited family messaging plan. for some reason the hack only works on my husband's 3GS and not my 3G. We have the same settings and I installed it the exact same way.

the tethering does work on my phone, just can't send pictures.

Yes you can do all of this on Snow Leopard. I did everything while I was running snow leopard and everything worked fine.

I tried the above method with the 5.1 carrier file. No luck for me on a 3GS un jail-broken in WI. Figures though Wisconsin never gets anything good early haha.

Since I am still learning where is this terminal thing you are talking of? God i hate being a noob at this.

I can confirm, updating to the Carrier file that was posted on this forum, then changing to the Unlimited Family plan text messaging.. MMS working a-ok!

I was getting the same error until I changed my text plan to unlimited family, did you change your text plan to "Unlimited Family Plan" after I changed my plan I was able to send MMS about 10mins after..
Can I do that if I'm on an individual plan?

I did that, but it still doesn't work. Any suggestions? Stalls out at end and I get the exclamation point.
