If we didnt kill animals and use them as resources none of us, including you, would be here.
Why does it have to be all or nothing? Is there no merit in reducing reliance on a resource that is environmentally unfriendly, especially when it is for a vanity product? Can there be no discussion on reviewing past practices and how we can adjust our usage without reducing it to "we've always done it so we should continue to do it"? I used to love the older leather cases from a few years ago, but the last couple I bought just didn't age as well or have the same patina. So, I'm ok with going to a different style case. But isn't it a valid argument for apple to try to reduce poor environmental practices where they can, even if they can't in other areas? Half measures are still measures in the right direction. It's like the old question: Q:"How can you eat a whole elephant?" A:"One bite at a time"

I’m probably in the minority here, but after using the FW case (pacific blue) on my iPhone 15 Pro For the past couple of days, I do actually like the case. I don’t think it will age as well as my former leather case but it suits my needs.
I guess we are!! I have just bought a iPhone 15 Plus and a Black FW case. It seems fine. I also like leather and would buy one if I could find one and just swap them around occasionally; just as I do with the Apple watch bands☺️

...Repeating myself, but it's a shame that cases can rarely be used across iDevice generations anymore because they keep adding and removing millimeters here and there.
And I'm going to repeat you, because you make an excellent point.

I agree. At least if I include the many bad times of famine in my considerations. But that doesn't make any of my statements that you quoted wrong.

What’s wrong with leather anyway?! It’s a byproduct of the tonnes of beef we all eat. I’d rather leather continue to be made than it go to waste… we’re still eating beef and the cattle are dying in any case. Bring back leather!
My last car had a leather interior. When I sold it after 10 years, the leather was still perfect and the next owner will enjoy it for at least another 10 years.
My new car has a "vegan" interior. The plastic trim looks cheap and the seats are no longer so attractive after a short time. The steering wheel feels strange.

If you consider our environment, sustainability and longevity, leather is simply unbeatable.
