Just wanted to confirm with someone who says they’re not having issues. My sensitivity issue is not when holding or touching the iPad, only when it is laid flat on a table or when I’m not directly touching it. It will not register a touch, but if I hold my finger on the metal around the bezel and then touch it, everything is fine.

I had a similar issue years ago with a nexus tablet. Something with conductivity or something. It’s surely being caused by the protector though as if you remove it, all is well.

People say that but I tend to notice every little scratch. I’ve had people show me their phones and say the screen is perfect and I almost throw up from the amount of tiny scratches they didn’t notice lol. I’m ocd but I also always sell my old stuff for new stuff. I get more money if it’s perfect.
Same over here... I am willing to pay a high price for Apple products... therefore I am expecting a class A products.

Been watching this thread for a while. Think I know what I’m gonna do. Gonna pick up the 11” Pro and go without a screen protector for the first time in many years.

I reckon it may be easier to keep the screen pristine by always using the Apple Pencil as it’ll stay cleaner and therefore there’ll be less wiping and lest chance of picking up micro scratches. In addition I’ll use an apple case which should protect enough when not in use.

Will see how that goes.

I've never not had either plastic protectors years ago or glass in the past several years. Using the new iPad Pro 11 without glass isn't just a worry, it is rather annoying. It absolutely is a fingerprint AND dust magnet. I've never had this type of issue with any other iPad or iPhone before, I'd wipe down once a week or so, this time around just looking at it causes it to have prints and dust.

FYI, if you order one, a 25% discount is automatically applied while checking out, making it cheaper than their glass+ protector for the iPhone Xs. Go figure...

Yeah exactly.

Also in regards to MD, they are definitely more resistant than regular films. When I use some cheap film packs from amazon it get scratched within a day but so far no visible scratches on the MD. Since I replaced my ipad and had to reapply it, I tested the old one and it seems to be good enough to resist scrathes from my ballpoint pen and keys. But unlike glass, it does get scratched by using a sharp knife. Touch sensitivity issue aside, they seem to be pretty good quality. So if you dont get touch sensitivity issue, its a good option. Still a gamble though, but seem to have more people that have no issue with it vs those that have.

I have my 12.9 flat on the table for last 15 minutes. No problems with any kind of touch sensitivity. Only one hand touching. Scrolling is fine and pencil input as well. It is in an Apple Folio non keyboard.

So you mean you can use any glass screen protector without problem if combined with apple magnetic folio, right?

Completely agree. Worst fingerprint magnet I've owned yet, and I've had most of the iPads, skipping a gen here or there. I've been going without a screen protector and already have a microscratch on the outer bezel which ticked me off, as I'm extremely careful with my devices. I guess there was a spec of something and the amount you have to wipe/scrub to de-fingerprint the new iPads, guess I scratched it.

So, it's 1) live with super ugly fingerprints and never wipe it, 2) wipe it and risk scratching it, 3) try a non-working glass screen protector, 4) Try this Media Devil film everyone's talking about.

I'm hesitant on going back to film because I draw frequently with the pencil and use different pressure variances -- most films I've seen get "denty" fairly quickly. Kind of annoyed with Apple this go-round TBH.

If your biggest concern is fingerprints (like me), I recommend a product called Fusso by crystal armour (a Japanese brand). It’s an oleophobic solution that makes screens fingerprint resistant. I use it on my iPhone and Apple Watch and it works great.

Anxious for someone to try the Zagg Glass+ and report back. I don't want to order but will wait until Best Buy has it and let them apply for me. They did free install for my 10.5 and it was perfect.

No. I’m using the Media Devil protector. Glass I tried did not work as well

Just an update. I exchanged my 11" as it had a dead pixel and was also experiencing touch issues when laid flat on the table without being held. I got the 12.9 and am currently using the skinomi glass with no issues whatsoever. It works in every situation. Not sure if this helps, but just wanted to update.

Just reporting in to say that the Omoton tempered glass screen protector is working perfectly on my iPad Pro 11. It’s the updated version mind. Seems they’ve been quick to react to the issues and updated the product on Amazon. Very happy

What type of case or cover do you use for your iPad?

Ditto on this I have always used Zagg screens but my Best Buy had none so I ordered an AmFilm that will be here Jan 2. If I dont like it I'd probably switch to Zagg.

Just wondering the tempered glass issue was it due to the fact that the iPad is bent ? I somehow think is something to do with lighting , when the iPad used other than lay flat on surface t was ok with tempered glass. Maybe it it light sensitive at certain angle affecting it when glass was add on.

I’ve been having so many issues with glass protectors on my 12.9 Pro. The only one that works and has been working for over a week now is this olixar film protector. It’s not glass but will have to do until new ones are released. It stops fingerprints and oil residue on the screen, feels like glass. I can confirm there are no scrolling or touch issues. There is a u shaped cutout for Face ID. . Here’s the link https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B07KPL1DKR/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 Here’s a link for 11 inch version https://www.mobilefun.co.uk/olixar-...06De5cQgic9RTO9gQ89CtJVw7yaaTtBIaAqpyEALw_wcB
Btw I don’t work for olixar just wanted to help others who really need a screen protector that works. I’m off to buy another as I messed up the first one. They give you 2 in each pack. I know they’re not glass but for me they are a lifesaver until other companies sort out glass that is compatible with this newiPad screen.

Hi
I have added a panzerglass screen protector (h9 glass) to my new iPad Pro 11 and screen touch is horrible after, except when I touch the side of the iPad all frame, then it is ok, have anyone made the same observation?
Not sure if I should remove the screen protector or make a error report to apple or the screen protector vendor.

Thanks

If you read from page 1 you will see how many people are having the same issue. You can send apple feedback using this link https://www.apple.com/feedback/ipad.html which will make them aware of the issue. I’ve done it and I think a lot of other members have. I’d remove the protector and get a refund from the vendor imo.

I wanted to take a minute and share some things I’ve found as I’ve tried a few more screen protectors.

I was approached by a manager of some sort with AM Film...a glass screen protector on Amazon.com. They provided me a protector free of charge.

The AM Film is one of the best I’ve tried. No glass protector is going to provide 100% touch sensitivity of the bare screen in my opinion. That’s what I’m finding. However, AM Film was bout 90-95% good. There were a few touches that did not register, but it’s usually when the iPad is laying on a table rather than being held. It also loses sensitivity more when the folio is on the iPad. The AM Film is considerably thinner than the Tech Armor that I tried. The attached pictures are of the AM Film screen protector. Being that it is so thin, it did chip on the edge when it bumped into my MacBook Pro. It simply bumped it and chipped. The edges are not very curved, so that is the weak point. It’s fairly smooth with the oleophobic coating...but not as smooth as some I’ve tried. (The AM Film comes with two protectors in the package.) You can check out the AM Film on Amazon. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07KJ7L1ZF/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_tai_04zjCb97Z0KA5

I was also contacted by Tech Armor after having issues with their protectors that made my iPad unusable. They have a pre-test run of thinner protectors and I was asked to install one and give them some feedback. I also received this protector free of charge. (The Tech Armor comes with one protector in the box.)

The thinner Tech Armor is immensely better than the current stock on Amazon. This protector is the same as the AM Film for the most part...90-95% touch is just fine. When the iPad is sitting on the table, it can miss a few touches. When the iPad is in hand, no issues. This protector has more curved edges, so it is less susceptible to cracking on the edges. The oleophobic coating is better on this one and has a great feel by touch and the Apple Pencil. This is the one I’ll be keeping on my iPad for the time being. Here’s the link for the current Tech Armor on Amazon. (NOT the one I am reviewing. The thinner version is supposed to be available in February.) https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07H45P3SG/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_tai_F7zjCbQ9EVTA5

I had purchased the Media Devil protectors before I was contacted by AM Film and Tech Armor...but they arrived much after the freebies. I do hope to install the Media Devil once I get back from vacation and write here about my experience.

I hope this helps someone out. I know the protector thing has been frustrating for me...I just don’t feel great about having my screen unprotected. Micro-scratches annoy me. I know...for some it’s not a big deal...but for some it is. I’m in that camp.

At this point, the thicker glass protectors will have touch sensitivity issues on the iPad Pro. When the glass gets thinner (both of these are .25mm or less), the touch sensitivity gets much better.

Thank you for the write up bigdog!

I am in the camp of 'screen protector always'. I'm actually quite annoyed of how the iPad Pro 11 looks and feels without one. I am super on top of keeping my hands clean and never oily, yet my iPad Pro 11 always has oil marks and white specs. With my old iPad Air 2 and Zagg glass, I could practically rub butter on my fingers and I wouldn't notice it on the zagg glass!

I will be exchanging my model when a good glass screen protector comes out, or apple fixed whatever the issue is. I'm surprised tech armor is going to take a couple months longer to come out with their new design.

Im finding that I do get touch screen issues after all with the Omoton protector, but only when the device is left flat on a surface, so it’s not a big issue for me as I generally hold the device while using.
