Got the Skinomi about 3 days ago but just got a chance to it t on. It came packaged set legit and tough (much better than any screen protector ever bought,) my only issue is it has o tape strips to hold when aligning it, luckily I got it it on straight with maybe two little specks of dust or fuzz. *knock of wood, as so far it works great (not perfect,) but I am realizing it’s because the glass on these protectors is so slick and smooth that I have been using it wrong. Because it slips and I don’t use the center of my finger I can see why it will occasionally miss a letter here or there.

So for 12.9” users I can say Skinomi works 99.8% out 100% it’s just barely not perfect. But strong, easy to clean, smooth to scroll and touch, types well, has good sensitivity still (so far after having it on for 5 hours.)

NOTE: be sure to use strong tape yourself (clear box tape as scotch tape isn’t sticky enough) and attach it to the outside glass when fitting it, as Skinomi opted not to be like Zagg, AMFilm, or Tech-Armor... by not having tabs to hold.

11” MediaDevil protector arrived and installed today. 11” 512GB LTE. Zero issues with sensitivity or pencil.

If anyone (US based) wants to buy a unopened 12.9” MD screen protector pack PM me. Bought both sizes to cover my bases. It’ll def arrive faster than the 12 days it took to receive direct from MD.

Tried the Skinomi. Doesn't work on 11. It misses taps and has scrolling issues.

Just got my iPad replaced over a dead pixel issue and with the MD on my 11” still have trouble with my thumb (maybe it’s because I have big thumbs?). Anyhow, I’ll be keeping it on as it feels way better than the glass on the iPad for me. As long as I’m holding the iPad thumb issue seem to be reduced somewhat.

Has anyone checked out paperlike.com? They have awesome screen protectors and their whole vision is based on the fact that their screen protectors feel like you’re writing on paper.

I’m actually interested in trying these but from my past experiences using matte screen protectors, don’t they distort the image somewhat?

I mean, if you are willing to sacrifice screen clarity, then sure. And yes, all matte protectors degrade the screen clarity to some extent.

So six weeks post launch, there’s no actually solution to all of this? From what I’ve gathered, it seems glass protectors don’t work if you use the folio or smart keyboard magnet covers.

Just to confirm, if you use snap in cases without magnets and a glass protector, there are no issues with touch sensitivity?

Not exactly true. I can place on my iPad flat on bed and the touch sensitivity is impaired when I use my thumb

I’m on ipad pro 11” and been using snap on esr case since I got this and have touch sensitivity issues with tempered glass. I haven’t tried any “official apple” cases though.

I have a folio style clip on case no magnets with a JetTech screen protector and I have issues with touch sensitivity.

A rub all over the screen with a cloth to push it down and adhere better, this fixes it for a few hours until the adhesive invisibly releases the extra few microns needed to reduce touch sensitivity again.

I think a glass screen protector with a better adhesive would work just fine. Fully stuck down the glass has no issues.

Thank you for posting.

I’m still using my iPad Pro 11 naked. Just using a cheap amazon case for the time being until some nicer ones come out.

I’ll be exchanging my iPad some time in the next month or so due to dead pixels right out of the box. I figured why get an exchange right away since this whole glass fiasco still isn’t resolved.

Yeah good idea waiting. It seems quite inconsistent right now as I replaced mine because of a dead pixel and the new replaced still have issue with MD screen protector while almost everyone else have no issue with it. Idk if it has to do with the case I’m using or anything but with case and no protector I have no issue. But well it works most of the time and issue mostly with my thumb so i decided to leave it on, seem to be less of a fingerprint magnet vs naked and worth a little sensitivity tradeoff.

On a side note/off topic there seem this time apple qc is quite bad with bad pixels. I’m on my third one as the first 2 had dead pixel(s). First one has 1 and second one had 4! They seem quite unhappy that I replaced it twice in a day and said that my third time would be the last time they would replace it for dead pixel issue and they said apple’s policy on dead pixels are that and I quote if “they’re clumped together in multiple clupms”. Which seems different from other people’s experiences.

Maybe this is why Zagg is taking so long in releasing their glass protector for the 11 and 12.9? I always use Zagg,as I feel they have the best product, easiest install method and great warranty. For now I am using a Film, but I much prefer glass over film

Is this an Apple problem.. or more of a problem with how companies are manufacturing the glass protectors? If it’s the latter maybe that is why Zagg is taking so long, because they are trying to get it right?

Apple have definitely changed something in the screens. Everything that works before on the 10.5" just fine suddenly has problems on the 11". I see it as a step backwards that they have reduced touch sensitivity to the point you cant use a glass screen protector.

I have one on my 12.9". No problems what so ever. I highly recommend it.
THX! Had to swap my IPP for a new one due to inconsistent backlighting. Waiting for MD to arrive. To be honest: I am little nervous that a) the IPP finally works ( I am already on my third 12.9./ number 1 had a scratch in the glass right out of the box and number 2 the backlight problem) and b) the MD won't cause any touch issues or problems with the pencil.

My main concern with the MD plastic screen is scratching, wear, or indentations caused b the pencil and drawing. I can’t see how it wiidnt get worn in areas often touched or rubbed.

I think at this point the MD is the best choice because it works. Hoping that it is durable and won’t allow scratches from the pencil although I don’t use the pencil very much. In any case it seems to be one of the few protectors that works so for now its the one I will be using.

Been watching this thread for a while. Think I know what I’m gonna do. Gonna pick up the 11” Pro and go without a screen protector for the first time in many years.

I reckon it may be easier to keep the screen pristine by always using the Apple Pencil as it’ll stay cleaner and therefore there’ll be less wiping and lest chance of picking up micro scratches. In addition I’ll use an apple case which should protect enough when not in use.

Will see how that goes.

Just wanted to confirm with someone who says they’re not having issues. My sensitivity issue is not when holding or touching the iPad, only when it is laid flat on a table or when I’m not directly touching it. It will not register a touch, but if I hold my finger on the metal around the bezel and then touch it, everything is fine.

I had a similar issue years ago with a nexus tablet. Something with conductivity or something. It’s surely being caused by the protector though as if you remove it, all is well.

They say it’s 9h - if that’s true scratches shouldn’t be a problem.

People say that but I tend to notice every little scratch. I’ve had people show me their phones and say the screen is perfect and I almost throw up from the amount of tiny scratches they didn’t notice lol. I’m ocd but I also always sell my old stuff for new stuff. I get more money if it’s perfect.

I have my 12.9 flat on the table for last 15 minutes. No problems with any kind of touch sensitivity. Only one hand touching. Scrolling is fine and pencil input as well. It is in an Apple Folio non keyboard.
