EDIT:Well that attempt to post a video went completely wrong! My ham fingeredness strikes again as I was trying to upload a clip showing my IPP 11 with MediaDevil protector working fine with edge and flat of thumb. Defeated.....

It has worked fine for 3 months, not doubting anyone’s issues but does make me wonder if perhaps there are are other factors affecting individual iPads.

It seems that different people do seem to be having different experiences. Though I am pretty sure that every single one of these iPads is capable of experiencing this problem with screen protectors. The whole thing is really bizarre. I’m now using the iPad on my lap, as opposed to on a desk like I was earlier, and now it’s not experiencing any touch sensitivity problems whatsoever. Which fits with what some other people have said about getting different results depending on what surface the iPad is on. It’s so frustrating because I doubt Apple will ever acknowledge the problem and I just want to know why it’s happening!

The reason for these issues is simple (sorry if this has been mentioned before): if your iPad Pro has a slight bend, as many do, the screen is not entirely evenly flat either. Apply a sheet of glass on a non-even display, and you will have touch issues.

The screen protector is not evenly & properly attached to the ever-so-slightly curved display at all points.

Preeeeety sure mine isn’t bent. I can lay a metal ruler across it and it lies completely flat. Also, the problem is still happening with non-glass protectors which are definitely stuck to the entire screen.

5 days now and the updated Jettech screen protector still working perfectly on my 11inch. Maybe this is the one! (crossing fingers).

Neither of their 2 previous versions have lasted this long with perfect response. (In fact even for the 24hr -48hr before the serious issues occurred they didn't feel perfect like this one. Matches my 10.5" touch experience).

Same here for me, have had the MD on for 2.5 months can use side or flat of thumbs and fingers with no issues.

I saw Power Support Crystal Film suggested but when I look it up on Amazon, I find it without any reviews. Can someone link it just so I can be sure?

Yes, Apple has changed something in the technology of these new screens that right now makes screen protectors a no go. I suspect this is going to go viral soon. I feel very sorry for all the trusted glass screen protector manufacturers on Amazon right now. Yikes!

Can you recommend one for the 11”? I just ordered one myself off Amazon. Hoping it won’t cause the issues glass does.

It's a shame for all the screen protector manufacturers. I doubt Apple did it intentionally, though it's most likely not something they're going to be able to fix with a software update which kind of sucks for users.

So I was using a matte screen protector for a while, but I began to miss the clarity of the iPad Pro 11” screen, so I took the risk and bought the “amFilm Glass Screen Protector Tempered Glass, Ultra Sensitive, Face ID and Apple Pencil Compatible” off of Amazon. I messed up the first install unfortunately, but got the second one on top... and, at the cost of possibly jinxing myself, it is actually working. As a matter in fact, this whole paragraph was typed on it using the on screen keyboard so no touch issues... yet.

The pencil also works, I did a practice note taking and drawing and no abnormalities yet. I’m still assuming the worse will happen, but if it works, that’s great! If it doesn’t, I’m done with protectors then. I have Apple Care and worrying about this has gotten annoying honestly.

I shall ordered u.k. version once I have idea as to when my 11" is being delivered in two weeks time.
The current tempered glass protector via 10.5 has been amazing tough slightly different make than the one you kindly mention.

Well, I finally couldn't deal with the touch issues anymore. I removed my glass screen protector from my 3rd get launch day 12.9 and I was shocked to find my touchscreen issues continued! I had never used this iPad without the screen protector so I just assumed that was the issue. I finally got a video of the issue and have a genius appointment today.

I actually had the issue while I was presenting to around 600 people yesterday. I don't think they noticed but it caused me issues going between my notes and a research reference.

I just got home from the Apple store. They run diagnostic on it. I actually didn't ask what it showed. They had already agreed to replace it after I showed them the video of it now working. Unfortunately they didn't have any in stock at any of the stores in my area. They ordered the replacement. Supposed to be come in between 3 and 5 days.

I did ask the Genius about screen protectors causing touch issues. They said they didn't believe it was possible. Go figure.

My iPad 1TB arrived today, after upgrading from a 11” iPad 64gb.

I had some touch issues here and there with my last iPad 11” with no screen protector installed at all. Something was up with it.

I’m happy to report, after installing my 9H Glass screen protector on my new 1TB 11” model, I have no touch issues at all. I don’t know if I just got lucky, or it was how I installed it. I definitely kept wiping away lint during installation. The screen was never used or touched without this screen protector.

I will keep following this thread, as a user who had (2) iPad Pro 11” models that both had touch issues without a screen protector at all.

My current situation is a miracle to say the least lol.

Gosh. Came here looking on feedback for my 11' IPP Tech Armour or the amFilm.
I feel like I hold off <dunno>

Just a word of caution. Do NOT try and use any of the glass screen protectors currently available for the new iPad Pros. The touch response becomes SERIOUSLY wonky. It is so bad I thought I had a hardware issue with my brand new 11" iPad Pro.
had same issue. if you touch the metal frame with ur other hand the touch input works without any trouble. damn.

Would be good for someone else to try and verify with another device. If this works on other iPads like its done on mine then problem solved (well 2.5weeks worth of testing level of sure).

My experience is ok so far with a Skinomi glass 9H screen protector.

The reviews seemed hit or miss, it was difficult to install to ensure absolutely zero lint was trapped underneath the screen protector.

Anyone using a Skinomi?

I had a Genius appointment today for my iPad Pro 12.9. With no screen saver I was still having touch sensitivity issues. I also produced a video showing the problem. They are replacing it but say they have none in stock so I have to return in 5-7 days.

I picked up my replacement 3rd gen 12.9 from Apple yesterday. I did have an iCloud backup but decided to set it up as new just in case my touch issues were touch related, although I had already done a fresh install on the launch day iPad and that didn’t fix the touch issues.

So far I’ve had ZERO touch screen issues with the replacement iPad. Zero skipped letters while typing on the screen. I’m typing this post on the touchscreen with no issues.

This evening I plan on installing a replacement glass screen protector from amazon and testing the touch sensitivity. So far the replacement iPad has worked perfectly.

My new one is great too! And I’m using a glass screen protector on top of my already good luck. It is a miracle to say the least. It’s perfect without issues.

My last iPad 11” had no screen protector, and it constantly dropped letters, and small touch quirks here and there. The letters were lighting up on the keyboard, but they wouldn’t appear in the sentence you were typing.

My latest 11” iPad Pro, I restored iCloud from a backup when I set it up. And installed a thick 9H glass screen protector, stuck it to a amazon replica apple smart folio, and I haven’t looked back since.

Perfect touch response! I’m loving it!

That’s great to hear. This makes me wonder if Apple had some launch day and frost batch release iPods that had touchscreen issues. I’m still having zero issues too. I was really disappointed when I was having the issues. I’ve been using iPads since the first generation and knew the current issues were not normal for the product line. I’m glad I finally took mine to Apple.
