Hmmm i always thought the double checkmarks meant the msg was recieved.... And i guess thats true. But i have a lot of friends using whatsapp on bb and it works just fine most of the time.

Do they have whatsapp for Android as well?

Yes, they do.

I think the one big platform they are missing is Windows Phone 7. (Which really isn't that big is it now?)

+1 for WhatsApp.

Use it daily, send and receive a few hundred texts a day with family and friends in other countries.

Never had a crash, but very rarely (maybe once every few weeks), their servers go down and you cant connect, meaning cant receive nor send out texts.

I don't know , does it store the messages locally or on WhatsApp's servers? Im sure you could just install the app on the new phone and it would scan trough the contacts on the phone again , to see who is using whatsapp.

run a backup on your old iphone, and when you get your upgraded new iphone, just restore that earlier installation. you don't even need to setup whatapps again. all your old messages will still be there.

one note though, it will be awesome if whatapps save all messages on their server and can be loaded back when say whatapps have some problem and have to be re-installed.

Good news.

I just got a new exchange iphone 4 since my other one was defective. You just have to request a new 4 digit code via MMS, and it keeps your old contacts. My messages were deleted however.

I've experienced this issue from time to time aswell.. doesnt happen regularly enough to really get irritated by it. If WhatsApp fails , ill just use SMS.

Hi everyone

I need a bit of help regarding this app.

When I am not using this app does it stay online or will it disconnect when inactive for a while?

Does it only go online when I reopen the app?

Thanks :)

But when I reopen the app it sometimes says connecting and other times it has stayed connected.

It varies. Sometimes a couple of minutes and it still says connecting. I think it must go offline?

I dont have any problems with it. Sometimes the server goes out for them. I do find it takes a little longer to connect to there server then Kik takes. Are you missing messages?

No, I'm not missing messages.

Does it go offline when it's running in the background? I can't understand how this app works?

Friends appear online and then offline and then online again but they don't reply to my messages even though the message has been delivered? Trig to figure out why this is.

Are these friends on Blackberry devices? Their app is much worse. For the most part they need to open it to get messages.

I bought an iphone 4 2 days ago & downloaded whatsapp.
My partner did the same thing.

Her whatsapp is working fine & mine just come up with a loading pack with 'creating favourites'.
Any clues...
