Yup, crazy, my daughter relied on it to message the wife and I from her iPod. We've put her and her friends on Kik Messenger and have Kik on our iPhones for when she needs to message us.
Kik is very nice, clean, simple and free, does excellent group chats.

Yeh I have switched my mom over to Viber now, unfortunately it doesn't do Video/Photo/Location transmission etc. does Kik do this?
 
Is it just me or is What's App been really REALLY bad at establishing a connection lately??

It keeps saying "Connecting" for long periods of time.

They better fix it or people are going to find alternatives! Can't wait till iMessages!!
 
Could somone please confirm if this is standard behaviour for this app.

My Sister and I did a test.

When opening the app and leaving idle it remains online for 5 minutes only before displaying the "last seen" status. This is done by exiting the app using the home button.

If however you open the app and then lock your phone while still in the app it will immediately disconnect you and display the "last seen" status.

This was tested using a wifi connection. We are both running the latest software.
 
I completely love this app. There are two things I would like to see appear in new versions.
1. Read Indicator, currently there is only server confirmation and received confirmation
2. An iPad/Mac companion app that allows you to seamlessly continue conversations

Can I stop people from seeing when I was last on whatsapp??? and how to hide online status on whatsapp? Please help meee
 
"Typing"

If a person's status says "typing" does that mean they are responding to you or could they be responding to a different chat?:confused:

you can also use TextNow its free and supports ipods - last i knew anyways
 
I did and is very sad! They don't wana give me my 3digit code.

Im waiting through this night because i have to speak to someone in south africa!

Did... WhatsApp really start out here? As in one of the first humble advertisements they ever posted for such a popular app began in macrumors?
