[doublepost=1474767295][/doublepost]I use Chrome because Safari will start loading a page and then stop in the middle for a few seconds and then finally load. It was annoying, so I switched to Chrome.

I experienced this too and it made me switch to Chrome. But Chrome is more intensive on the macbook pro and drains battery quicker. I wish there was a compromise that combined the two.

This lag in Safari drives me crazy, and it's one of several reasons I much prefer Chrome. At this point I only use Safari when maximizing battery life is paramount.

I absolutely loathe any browser not named Safari when using a Mac.

I don't get how people can use Chrome. It's ugly and doesn't look like a native mac app. The scrolling is crappy and not like a native mac app. Doesn't integrate with macOS trackpad gestures. Can't pinch to see all your tabs in a beautiful view like Safari. Full screen videos don't go to their own desktop space. I can't stand how videos highjack your current desktop. Awful. No iCloud syncing with your other devices. I could go on and on.

Edit: I just remembered another deal breaker. In Activity Monitor each tab shows up as it's own process with Safari so you can identify which websites use how many resources individually. Chrome just shows all tabs in once process.

Edit: Yet another deal breaker. Safari lets you three finger tap to preview a web page. I use this ALL the time. Chrome doesn't have it.

Anything I can do at all to help out Safari? It's been an absolute nightmare for me.
Loads of beachballs and freezes.

I use Safari everywhere. I've always stayed with the default offerings until I have cause for concern.

Talk about nitpicking...

Give me an effective Safari adblocker to block Youtube ads then I will think about switching back.

I use firefox - it has features like clearing history when I exit that I like. However, it seems to be getting slow so I was going to try Chrome but the facility to copy bookmarks and saved passwords didn't work. When I searched for solutions there were a lot of same issues from people and Google's solution just repeated the instructions that didn't work.
I've tried Safari several times but I just don't find it comfortable. I also had issues with bringing over stuff. Also I want to share passwords across sites but not bookmarks - there are sites I just don't use on a phone.
Still playing around

Safari everywhere. Chrome for the odd flash site. Also my bank works better in Chrome.

When I am browsing sites like Macrumors or Engadget, etc I use safari, but when I am doing web design work I use chrome, mainly because I think the inspector in safari is just horrendous. . . If Google could ever find it in their hearts to 1) fix the battery drain and memory hogging issues, and 2) add touch bar support, I might switch to it full time. . . as mentioned previously, the safari page loading lag is rough.

I did not know that! It's the same thing as using the force touch trackpad to "peek and pop" I guess.

edit: Except the "pop" doesn't seem to work in either method.
