Safari. With no doubt. Bookmarks synchronize well across every device, iCloud Tabs is great, Handoff is great and it feels very smooth overall. Chrome has a enormous impact on memory usage and it just doesn't feel that snappy in my opinion...

Truth be told I mostly use Chrome since it syncs with my Windows PC and since it handles certain websites better than Safari does.

With that said, I tend to use Safari for streaming (YouTube etc.) since watching videos in Chrome will make my Mac pretty hot, whereas Safari handles it perfectly.

I use Safari. Honestly, no issues at all, it syncs with iCloud, and unlike Chrome I'm not constantly bombarded by Google telling me to sign in (I don't even use any Google service). Plus, I get the Content Blocker API, which is simply fast when it comes to blocking tracking using 1Blocker.

I used Safari since I got my MacBook in 2010. I recently switched over to Chrome a few months ago. Really enjoying it.

The performance is stellar. Very stable and very fast. I also appreciate being able to sync my browsing history and bookmarks across my phone (Android), PC at work (Windows), and Macbook at home. I personally recommend it.

I have been experimenting with Vivaldi and while the general feel of Vivaldi is not as comfortable as Safari, nor intuitive at least for me. It does appear to be noticeably faster at times and more reliable with certain sites. I imagine that I shall alternate between the two for some time, as I do quite appreciate the easily synced bookmarks across devices with Safari...

Firefox first (Privacy and Security) Opera (just great, no bugs).

Maybe one day Vivaldi again, but last month it still had long overdue bugs for past year

I don't want to start a war here, just interested in your perspectives. I've been using Chrome for the past couple of years, but am revisiting Safari now. Two of the features that drew me back were picture-in-picture video, and Apple Pay. I also really like Safari's reader feature and the ability to easily save articles and read them on other devices (though I've been using Instapaper on Chrome / iOS for this, which also works well).

Seems like Safari is pretty fast, but Chrome maybe still a bit faster? There are a lot more extensions available in Chrome as well.

One issue is that I can't get Safari to automatically open PDFs that I've downloaded, despite the fact that I have "Open safe files after downloading" checked in Safari's preferences. Does that work for you?

Would love to hear others' experiences with latest versions of each of these browsers. Thanks.

Safari hands down. I only use Chrome or Firefox with certain game or job sites that do not work with Safari.

Both. Safari is my main, but I use Chrome when I need to be signed into Google/Facebook/etc as different users at the same time. I've though about switched completely to Chrome, but Safari gives me an overall better experience thanks to its speed and tight integration with the OS.

Chrome does have more extensions, which is why I'm interested in it.

I keep trying to like Safari, been trying for years, it's just not happening. I used Firefox for many years, but recently switched to Vivaldi which has been working quite well for me. The one thing I miss from Safari is the bookmark sync, but I don't miss it enough to switch back.

Talk about nitpicking...

Give me an effective Safari adblocker to block Youtube ads then I will think about switching back.
I'm using uBlock Origin, as there's finally a version (beta) available for Safari and it's working great! I don't have YouTube ads or any ads. It's doesn't auto update yet but that's a very minor thing.
I've also used Adguard which worked well.

uBlock Origin for Safari

Chrome. I am deeply in the Google ecosystem (i.e. Google Drive, Google Play Music, Google Photos, etc). I also use Linux and Android, where Safari isn't an option. I tried Safari when I got this 2016 MBP due to its Touch Bar support, but that wasn't enough for me to stick with Safari.

My boss swears by Chrome, but I'm a Safari guy. It does everything I need it to do 99.99% of the time, so why not use it? There is the rare occasion where a website won't load correctly in Safari, but it does in Chrome, so I'll use it then, but then again, I have seen some sites not work correctly in Chrome, but they're perfectly normal in Safari.

It's a toss up for me. Me and my wife share the main login on our Mac and I let her use Safari so it has all her bookmarks. She's not the most tech savvy so I thought let her use the most stable version of Safari and most integrated with macOS.
If I use safari on the Mac, I use Safari Technology Preview with my own set of bookmarks. I do tend to use Chrome as well. Hard for me to really notice difference in battery life. And for the record, I use Chrome on my iPhone. It just feels to scroll better.

On windows, I use Google chrome. On iOS, I use Safari. I would completely switch to Safari if they had a Windows version that wasn't dead.

Safari, Firefox, Chrome...It's all good. I use Safari the most because it's 4th on my dock and was my default browser upon purchase. Although, I must admit, I don't take my laptop out of the house. So I would never notice differences in battery life.

For Chrome users running with the latest update, have you guys noticed any improvements with battery life on your Mac?
