Given what BlueVelvet said, I think the mods were justified in disallowing contests or requests for work of this sort. One suggestion I would like to humbly put forth, however, is, rather than banning any sort of request for workers, to add a "Looking to Hire" subforum like they have over at Sitepoint.
I think this could be a boon to all of the talented freelancers we have here, as well as providing an additional revenue stream to the site (job listings on Sitepoint are paid). Again, just a suggestion...

First - thanks!!!

Second - love you idea of a 'looking to hire' forum or such.
To be honest I did this logo design mainly because it interested me and I had an idea that I wanted to design out. In general I'm very much in the camp that contests / request for work are not the best idea and unfair to many. Generally I would much rather just provide any design help, guidance to someone posting on a forum just for the sake of helping, and go through a proper proposal/quote process (without upfront design work) for actual job requests.

On a side note, is feedback to all the entries still going to be given?

Will do. Earlier today I supplied AndyClark all the logo files in various file formats, a logo guide showing all Pantone / CMYK / RGB and HEX color equivalents, business card template and supporting files as well as my contact info. That should take care of my side of things, so now I'll wait for the iPod :)

This perhaps should be in the Site and Forum Feedback thread but I'll just give my own personal opinion here, not 'official' or site policy.

I don't think there would be enough demand to make it worth our while and I'm not sure whether we would have the infrastructure or resources to administer it given that the income stream would probably be limited... saying that, please feel to repost this suggestion in the thread linked to above. :)

Unfortunately, I will be closing this thread again — this time for good — in an hour or so, just so we can put this all behind us on an upbeat note. I only unlocked the thread for a short time to allow people to congratulate the winner and provide some feedback... Perhaps one3 can post pics of his new iPod in the iPod and iTunes forum.

;)
