But...but...but...
But I don’t have enough money to justify keeping them and I’ve found this excuse to return them, so I can feel good about not owning them. I keep coming back here to convince myself that my life is meaningful with this decision of mine.
What is wrong with you? Why do you feel the need to berate people you don’t know for something so inconsequential? Seriously, what drives this in you?

No condensation on mine after 2 hours use, not even a litte single sign of moisture. I also know about people using them inside for 6 hours without any at all. So strange someone have this issue and someone not. Offcorse using them outside in cold weather would make it wet inside. But getting this water from indoor use i cant understand how it’s possible, maby because some humans sweat more and are hotter then others? Wonder if Apple is going to say something about it or not, and if they do something with the Battery draining in the case.

The amount of time it takes condensation to form depends entirely on how long it takes for the air temperature to reach the dew point, which in turn depends on the temperature of the earcups and your head. It could take two minutes or 45 minutes. Or two hours. Or whatever. It’s variable, based on ambient temperature, body heat, wind chill, etc.

It’s not sweat, it’s condensation.
Ayup. But no matter how many times you tell him this, he won’t listen. I gave up trying to talk actual science. SMH.

BTW, wind “chill” is something only living organisms experience, not inanimate objects like headphones. Petty semantics. Sorry. I just remember the concept getting drilled into me during aviation ground school many years ago and couldn’t resist barfing it back. ?

Hehe. I hear ya, but you know what I mean: the cooling effect of wind. :)

I had mine for about 2 weeks until this finally occurred. Had been wearing them sitting in front of my iMac for about 2-3 hours watching a rather longish movie.

Ultimately decided to take them back and get a refund. I want some over ear or on ear Apple wireless headphones, but this first generation just may not be ready for primetime.

I'm intrigued by the reports of a 'Sport' variant and wonder if the materials used will likely be different. Time will tell..

If there’s a sports addition I assume they would have less features then this version given these are the “Max” version of the line. Although they would definitely include some level of water resistance.

Right, exactly. And one of the biggest draws for me (aside from a balanced sound profile , which is of course paramount) is the connectivity with all my Apple devices. If it loses the transparency mode or the really top quality ANC – fine.

Having a solid, Bluetooth 5.0 headphone in the Apple eco system is desire for me.

If the suggested price is £400 then I think it will have the same functionality as the Max but with cheaper materials such as silicone. That’s £150 price difference which is less than the price differences between the stainless steel and aluminium watch’s that have the same functionality

its kind of funny that part of my listening ritual from here forward will be to pull out the cushions to check for moisture after I'm done.

its an easy check, takes 15 seconds, and will make me a bit more aware of a listening session and deliberate, but its just funny that its something I'll need to do for as long as I have these. I don't think I mind, but nobody should really have to at this price.

like "don't worry about turning them off and on every time you use them-- we made that really simple! however, *do* check for water build-up behind the cushions every time you use them. MUCH better"

This YouTube video is interesting. This guy experienced severe sweat and/or natural condensation during and after the gym. Watch it through to the end it’s quite informative. I think the guy is suggesting that foam cups are soaking up sweat and/or condensation like a sponge which isn’t noticeable by the user and then that’s dripping inside on to the drivers

seems like something any candid headphone engineer should be able to answer. my understanding is it was due to the cold of the aluminum interacting with the heat of your head, but who knows.

Sounds like a serious design flaw

I don't understand this occurrence. My pair are ice cold when I put them on and after several hours of use I have yet to see any condensation. Then again, I find it very difficult to break a sweat. Perhaps it's only prone to overly sweaty people?

I'm not sure how long I should wait to see condensation. Watch a 2 hr. movie with them on and then inspected for condensation, none.

In my case it’s close to 3-4 hours each time. Anything around 2 hours doesn’t really show anything. It’s been 2 months already and they’re working completely fine. I’m not too worried about it.
