Hi all, after updating to 10.12.5 CAT is no longer working, tried reinstalling still no luck, is it working for you all?
After not having it work even once in 10.12.x on my late 2011 MBPro with a replacement BT LE internal card (the aforementioned BCM94331PCIEBT4CAX card), I finally have it working today with 10.12.4 beta 3 (16E163f). Here are the steps I took. Maybe not all of them are necessary:
1. Turned off bluetooth
2. Uninstalled CAT (rebooted as required)
3. Deleted all preferences at /Library and ~/Library with the words bluetooth, ids, continuity, and cloudpaird in them
4. Logged out of iCloud
5. Rebooted. Reinstalled CAT (rebooted as required)
6. Turned on Bluetooth. Turned on Bluetooth sharing (I had never had this on before)
7. Logged back into iCloud
8. After testing that all worked, re-enabled csrutil using "csrutil enable --without kext"
I now have handoff working (before all I'd get was a blank Safari screen, no user switching in messages, etc.). Before I had other features working (Airdrop, well, airdrop only) and now full functionality has returned. Finally. I missed this.
P.S. What I wished would happen with the tool is that the attempt to back up the kexts would be removed (since it no longer works with 10.12.x) and the default option should be the restore with recovery option. Alternatively, something to that affect should be mentioned in the documentation/tool.
Got it to work on my late 2011 MBP 17".
1, Replaced original wifi/BT card with BCM94331PCIEBT4CAX
2, Disabled SIP (actually had it disabled since before)
3, Ran CAT beta iaw the readme file **
4, Admired what I've just done
**After first replacing the card and booting I didn't have any active AirPort card iaw CAT pre-diagnostics (and menu bar WIFI didn't recognize any WIFI at all)
Took it all apart and discovered that the -CAX card and the AirPort connector wasn't seated propely. Gave it a little push/squeeze from both sides of the hole AirPort module and felt a distinct snap/click and realized that the card now was seated/connected properly.
Satified, I reassmbled it all, and re-ran the CAT with success!
See attached snap for "proof"
What about handoff? Mine doesn’t seem to handoff, but everything else works. (Air drop, calling)
