Should they recall the 2021 iPad Pro 12.9-inch as well due to edge shadow and blooming?

And hey, PWM on OLED displays cause some people eye strain and migraines. Should OLED iPhones be recalled, too?

People who have peanut allergy don't tell stores to stop selling peanuts. They just avoid items with peanuts in them.

If the jelly scrolling bothers you, then simply return the mini 6 or just don't buy it in the first place.

Thank you.

People nowadays are just ME ME ME. If something bothers ME, everyone should be affected. No, they are not. I completely agree. Many people love their Mini 6, including me, and most wouldn't have seen it if it wasn't for Dieter Bohn's twitter post. Sorry, but this is just ridiculous.

No one needs to buy anything. If they don't like it, they should return it. But a recall because some users experience problems others don't see...

Best thing you can do is not buy it. Of course if sales tank on the mini we will all say guess people don’t want that form factor or because iPhones are so big.

Heck the only reason most buy an entry level iPad or mini is to keep the kiddos happy. Kids don’t usually complain.

Why are so many saying the "jelly" effect can only be seen in slow mo video? It's super obvious on mine in normal use and is very distracting - it cannot be unseen (and so is being returned because of this).

If you don't see it or don't have it, great, but why deny it's an issue for others? I've never seen an LCD display have this jelly/tearing effect before.

Many people are saying that because many people do not know what they are talking about. If you see it and how bothered you are about it is all down to individual things, reading and thus tracking text while it is moving is a big one that will make it more obvious compared to keeping you gaze stationary while scrolling.

Air 4? Can you post some links to the multiple threads on MR when it was discovered? I'd like to read the discussions regarding this issue occurring on other iPads. Thanks.
The Air 4 I have does this when fast scrolling. I always put it down the limitations of it being a 60Hz LCD. I thought it was normal until the Jellygate controversy hit the iPad Mini 6.

I still have mine and use as an iPod. I was having battery issues too, but have you tried setting up as a new device? This might fix the issue.
I use my old SE1's as point-and-shoot cameras (using the Incipio Focal Camera Cases). When I set them up for these purposes I set them up as new devices and I too noticed a bit of improvement in battery life.

I obviously can’t speak for everyone’s experience, but I’ve had two Air 4s in my household since launch and I’ve never seen this issue or even heard of it until the Mini 6. If it happens on other iPads it’s certainly less common.

My iPad 3 had this problem, my OG iPad Air has this problem so does my 6th gen iPad. The wavy scrolling is not as extreme as some of the YT video have shown on the Mini 6 but this problem goes back to when the Retina displays came out.

Job would never allow such "Jelly" product out (knocking), which is against Apple's fundamental philosophy and defected by industry standard.

By saying "LCD normal", "keep eyes elsewhere", "using landscape more", it is just irresponsible.

Our fans purchase Apple's products not because "just another Samsung or related", but because "you are the Apple".
Lol. You are only bothered by it because you have confirmation bias. You would of never noticed it unless these folks that have nothing better to do and with a twitter account showed you. The iPad Air does this. Just never knew to look for it. It’s not an issue. It’s called first world problems.

The iPad Mini is build with a certain price target in mind.

These low quality displays are working as Apple intended.

Apple could easily put a better quality display in it, but then it would cost more $$$$.

Now you will probably say that for this type of money, Apple could have easily put a better quality display. But this is Apple we are talking about, they always maintain a big profit margin.

Who has an M1 MacBook Air here? I do, do a four finger swipe to swap desktops and watch the jelly. Can you notice it on the Mini? Sure. Does it matter at all in real life usage? Not at all. Literally, it affects nothing, because you can't read text while scrolling quickly on a 60hz display anyways. So the only time you see the effect is when you are trying to see it.

While you are scrolling, you're looking on the screen, so the effect is disturbing to the eye. Or you just suggest that the user should look away from the screen while it is in scrolling motion? :)
And as for me, I can read while I scroll the screen. But the jelly effect is disturbing AF without reading during the scroll. It's just very bad feeling to see.

"Just avoid holding it in that way," Apple CEO Steve Jobs wrote in an e-mail that was making the rounds on the Web on Friday morning.

This is from 2010. Yes, Jobs would never have done this...

Why would they recall it? My Air 2 does this jelly effect and it’s what 5 years old now.

Steve Jobs literally blamed us consumers for holding the iPhone 4 wrong so no he would not handle this any differently. But I agree that it's an issue that needs to be properly addressed.

Nobody made a fuss when this issue already existed on the iPad Air.

It’s the perfect example of something being an issue only because people want it to be a problem.

Return your iPad mini or don’t buy it if you are unhappy with it. Millions will have no issue with it, and go on to use it happily.
Wow, I agree with you for once. :)
