That means you trained your brain to see it and you'll see it no matter what because of that.

Like you said, return it, it's still in the time frame and you'll never be happy with it -- I love mine, but I have some relatives that might want them for Christmas presents and the refurb store cuts the cost. :)

There is no issue at all.

This effect has been prominent in all iPad Minis and the earliest iPads.

People are just looking to bash Apple, and we as a community must rise up against this.

If you hate iPad Mini 6, return it and move on with your life. DO NOT DENIGRATE one of the best damn products Apple has ever made.

I can understand it bothering people, I get annoyed by random things too and can’t really judge, but people have to recognize this is just a consideration when shopping for the device and not a launch-blocking defect, right? Like an apartment without good sunlight or something.

im actually a little jealous it doesn’t bother me at all tbh, I wish I had better eyes or a more sensitive palette

My iPad Air 4th gen absolutely has jelly in landscape mode, though not as pronounced as the Mini's portrait mode.

^^ The part in bold is the key and the point most of us are getting at.

Jelly being a "thing" and on basically all Apple devices of late isn't the issue.

The switch of the orientation it's occurring in and the subsequent extremely noticeable nature of it (for many of us - not all) on the Mini 6....is the sole issue.

Is this meant to be sarcasm? I believe it has to be , so bravo 👍🏼

Its clear that some users (me included) are having a real issue with this device. I’m not looking to find problems, I’m just having a hard time using this device, which is never something I have been able to say about using any previous iPad (the experience has always been a delight, in this case it is the opposite for me).

I will say this: in all other respects this Mini is the *perfect* portable tablet for me, but any scrolling in portrait (reading a news article, doing anything that requires scrolling really) hurts my eyes and brain.

Job would never allow such "Jelly" product out (knocking), which is against Apple's fundamental philosophy and defected by industry standard.

By saying "LCD normal", "keep eyes elsewhere", "using landscape more", it is just irresponsible.

Our fans purchase Apple's products not because "just another Samsung or related", but because "you are the Apple".

Oh stop it already with the "Steve Jobs would never have allowed" stuff. Steve is the one who once said "you're holding it wrong."

we need to give steve jobs credit for addressing a problem in public
and caring.

Umm.. As we all know, it took a month for Jobs to say anything (the email), then another month to back that up with their testing and an entire event to show that testing, culminating in a lawsuit a year later.

He didn't address the problem in public. He posted a condescending email that caused the entire company to get called out on the problem.

We should know here, firsthand; the issue was first reported on MacRumors.

BL.

Nah. I opened the box, ran through setup and started to use safari. Immediately noticed the jelly effect when scrolling and then visited macrumors to see it was already being discussed. No "training" required.

Was hoping for a software fix but could see very quickly this was unlikely when the defenders started saying this was a non issue. Now Apple confirm it's a non issue. Thankfully refunds are simpler than an endless disagreement of opinions.

Steve Jobs literally held a press event to say that the iPhone 4 didn’t have a faulty antenna and that “all phones lose signal” when held the wrong way.

Anyway I have yet to notice the “scrolling issue.“
