Job would never allow such "Jelly" product out (knocking), which is against Apple's fundamental philosophy and defected by industry standard.

By saying "LCD normal", "keep eyes elsewhere", "using landscape more", it is just irresponsible.

Our fans purchase Apple's products not because "just another Samsung or related", but because "you are the Apple".

Oh god not another JoBs WoUlD never. Just stu. Don’t like it don’t buy it.

We all know it is normal behavior…

The problem is that Apple changed and oriented the screen in a way where it looks terrible in portrait now… whereas before it was largely hard to see this effect in landscape.

That’s the issue. How obvious the effect is now

When the screen is the star of the show, you should never skimp out on its quality.

Whether it be iPhones, MacBooks, or iPads, Apple should always invest in good quality screens for their products. I was really looking forward to the iPad mini 6 but now I'm just going to wait and see.

If this unbelievably minor issue, that is only noticeable by a subset of people in a subset in very specific circumstances, and doesn't affect the function of the device in any way bothers you so much: don't buy it and/or return it. Stop posting about it because this is getting beyond ridiculous at this point

If you really want to be a conspiracy theorist, you might make jump to say that perhaps the more vehemently "anti-jelly roll" people are the ones that got caught up in the hype of a new shiny thing and perhaps now have some buyers remorse? This issue just gives a face-saving way of returning the device perhaps? If that is the case, who cares? Don't like it for whatever reason? Return it. Quit the tantrums already.

Many iPad models do this, even the ones released by Steve. Also, easily scratched iPods, mobile me, iPhone 4 antennas. People like you seem to forget all the crap that Apple has put out, now and under Steve.

Thanks for proving my point. Like 5 people noticed it on previous iPads, compared to the majority of people noticing it on the mini 6. Do you have the mini 6? Go take it to a store that caries older iPads and compare it side by side. It is 10x more noticeable than any other iPad ever made.
* to you.

I’ve used mine in portrait all day and I can honestly say I’ve loved it. And I’ve come from a 120Hz Pro too.

That’s quite the patronising post. I want a Mini, I have no “buyers remorse”, I just want to be able to use it in portrait mode and not experience dizziness and other unpleasant effects. For myself and many other users this is not only present in a “subset of specific circumstances” - it is present system wide, across all apps, in portrait mode.

I’ve had iPads every year since they were released, and while this issue has always been there to some degree, it has not been this pronounced and never taken away from my experience of using the device. In this case, it is, and myself and some other users are annoyed by that.

With this new Mini, Apple decided to put the display controller in a different position than they had on previous iPad models, meaning that this new Mini has no jelly scroll in landscape mode. Yet Apple have promoted the device in their marketing and in their retail stores as a device to be predominately used in portrait mode (it’s on display in portrait mode in Apple stores etc). If Apple had left the display controller where it was previously there would be no issue here.

I noticed it on every iPad up to the 2ng gen pro (mot just ipads, iPhones too, up to the 5), I just didn’t feel the need to cry like a sissy about a non issue.

Steve JOBS let far worse out into the wild. And even if he couldn't get things like antennae right, he knew how to spell his name.

iPads have been displayed in the stores in portrait format since the first generation. I've owned iPads since gen2, every size from Mini (several generations) to the 12.9" Pro, and have probably used them in portrait mode half a dozen times in all those years. OK, so I didn't keep count - but if you asked me if I ever used an iPad in portrait mode, I'd say never, without trying to be scientifically accurate. There is essentially nothing I do on an iPad that isn't better done in landscape format.

Can we try and show a bit of empathy here. Just because its a non-issue for you doesn’t mean it’s a non-issue for others. People getting headaches and diziness from their sensitivity to this scrolling issue on the new Mini is not a non-issue in the slightest.

I too have noticed this on other iPads I’ve owned before, but never to this extent and never to the degree that I would have been motivated to post about it on a forum.
