Of course many people who have a phone for work has the phone managed by the company. So it may not be possible. Or they don't want to risk getting personal stuff on a company phone.
Unless you own the company, why would some people use the company-provided phone for their personal use? I don't get it...

Can they not save up or get a phone to be paid monthly?

iPhone 11 - 128GB - Black - iOS 16.7.2

Would love to upgrade but I cannot use Apple's OLED. Not upgrading to iOS 17 as temporal dithering has been reported as greatly increased on LCD devices.

XS. On its second battery, and capacity is nearing 80%. Planing on investing in a new phone rather than battery once the 16 is released as iOS 17 will more than likely be the last major OS update for the XS. Probably will get the “Pro” flavor. Assuming I should see benefit in leaping a half decade in technology.

14 Pro. I might need a new battery soon, but there's not really any reason for me to upgrade it for the next year or so.

15 Pro, coming from 12 mini is a big jump and i will hold it for a couple of years :)

11 Pro Max 256GB. It's a workhorse of a phone. Never had a single issue with it. Battery life is still all day for me. Cameras still good. Still runs latest iOS well. I haven't seen anything in the years since to make me need an upgrade. The Pro phones have gotten heavier and thicker up until last year which was very off-putting for me. 11 Pro Max is as heavy as I want my phone to be. I quote like the lightness of the Plus models but dual camera seems like a step back for me. I'll be interested in this year's models and what they offer but not upgrading until this breaks.

Just done a downgrade 😁 which will leave me in a better financial position… from 15 Pro and got 13 Pro in Alpine Green from the Apple certified refurbished store.

Updated it to iOS 17.5.1 out of the box.

First impressions, the weight & stainless steel it feels & looks more premium, the notch does looks dated, performance wise it has impressed me with how fast it is. Battery seems to be draining slower than the 15 Pro!

15 Plus. Its a good phone, great battery life and camera. I came from a regular 13 and thought I wanted/needed the bigger display, turns out I don't (but I wanted something bigger than the 6.1" display). Turns out the 6.7" is kinda annoying carrying around with its size and really isn't pocketable. Will probably get the 16 Pro for the 6.3" display/size. I am not a yearly upgrader but I think the 6.3" I can stay with for years as its the happy medium size for me.

Silver iPhone 15 Pro Max. I was hoping this would be the year I finally skip, but who am I kidding. A 6.3" screen fits smack dab in the middle of my ideal range (6.2-6.4). If that comes to fruition, I'll likely buy. As it stands, the Pro is a smidge too small and the Pro Max a smidge too big for my tastes.

That angle looks beautiful. Great shade of green for that model.

13 Pro for my personal phone (in Sierra Blue, 256GB)
Standard base model 12 for my work-issued phone (in plain black).

This is the first time I've kept a phone this long. I got a great deal on it through Verizon, paying a net of $100 USD plus tax for the phone after the 24 monthly promotional trade in credits from trading in my 11 Pro. Verizon has since moved its trade in credit promotions and payment plans to 36 months which is a bit less appealing to me. Apple and Best Buy still do 24 months but their trade in promotions are often less generous.

Might consider a 16 Pro depending on features, color, pricing, and promotions.

I had an Mmm Purple 12 for two and a half years, it was a great phone. Just got my pink 15 in the mail a few days ago and I absolutely adore it. The rounded off edges and the frosted back feel much more primo, and the cameras look and feel like a real step up.Generally I wait until just before or just after WWDC to get last year’s phone because I don’t care about it being the new hotness, and 2-3 years is long enough that the upgrade feels like it was worth it.
