How's iOS 11 running on your device

Two iPad Airs and two iPhone 6 in our house, all four since release day and fully updated, no problems. Run a little slowish opening some things I think, but with a little patience works fine. Miraculous devices.

I believe ios11 is buggy. Sometimes opening some random app makes the app stuck at seemingly doing nothing at start up and during this time I can feel like my phone is getting hot. Sure sign that something is causing a dead loop and makes CPU run at 100% and drain battery.
I get it pretty much all the time when I get notification from tinder and click it and open tinder - it gets stuck at a loading. Similarly, when opening Instagram I get totally identical behavior, sometimes some apps don't even start and get killed. I've never experienced anything like that, I have another identical iphone6 that still has ios10 and it doesn't have any of such huge bugs.

I run geekbench and both iphones with ios10 and ios11 produce almost identical results:
1549 / 2630 for single/multicore CPU benchmarks. These seem to be normal for these devices.

Multitasking simply stops working. I have to reboot the device to get it back. I have not had to restart a device this frequently to fix various issues since I used windows in the early 2000s.

That’s because of no optimisation being done for older phones. My iPhone X has no heating issues in Safari but my 7 Plus does. iOS 11 on the X runs like a whole new beast compared to how it ran on the 7 Plus. It’s clear Apple simply backported iOS from their newest phones to their older phones without bothering to drop demanding features.

Its not just the worst iOS but the WORST operating system I have ever used and that includes Windows Vista. Home button delays, battery drain, some stuttering here and there. The sooner we are onto iOS 12 where Apple fixes this mess, the better. Here's hoping iOS 12 is to iOS 11 that iOS 10 was to iOS 9.
You mentioned 3 reasons you think iOS 11 is the worst OS you have ever used, one of them isnt even specific - rather a blanket vague comment.

Out of the whole OS, with millions of lines of code - I think 3 complaints is a pretty decent OS.

Chuckle ;)
Your comment is just as bad.
3? That’s out of user features, and when you add up all the complaints, there are a lot.

It's running just fine on my 6S. The delay when opening a new app or even a new tab in Safari is ever so slightly longer than in the past, but it's fine beyond that.

I’ve had a ritual for a while of restarting my devices on a weekly basis. I even have a reminder set to go off on Fridays to do this. With iOS 11 I now do this every couple days

Didnt realise ‘battery drain’ and ‘stuttering’ are user features ;)
Or that those kinds of things apply to everyone and somehow didn't affect some people here or there with pretty much any iOS (or really most other OS/software) updates.

Adequate battery life is a user feature. An OS update that negatively impacts that ...

Smooth scrolling display is another user feature. If you tested a device that exhibited stuttering would you buy it or look for a different device?

Feature: a distinctive attribute or aspect of something
That covers a lot when it comes to smartphones.

Sounds like everything in life is a feature.

For me has been an awful experience so far. I really miss iOS10.
I had an iPhone 7+ when I first updated to iOS11 and I started to have a bug on Apple Music where I couldn’t find my friends and use the new “social” thing. I was only able to use it on my iPad.
Then I changed my phone to an iPhone 8+ and I made the decision to set it up as a new phone to avoid any issue I may had with my older backup file.
Then I started to experience even more issues!
* My weather widget didn’t update when I swipe it, so I changed the settings to always on and still had the same issues.
* I have like 13k photos and 600 videos on iCloud library. I started to notice that when I took a picture or a video it didn’t upload it to my iCloud library and just got a notification that was updating but it never actually update a sh*t.
* My Apple Watch stopped showing Photo memories on the Siri Watchface (I really liked this!), so I thought it was part of the conflict I was having with Photos.
* I decided to create a backup on iTunes and the restore my phone and my watch. It seems the Photo issue was solved but still was not synching with my watch on the Siri Watchface but then a new problem was on!
* I got a red badge notification on the Settings app and when I clicked on it it said that I had to agree to the new icloud terms and conditions. No matter how may times I accepted the terms and conditions it didn’t go away! So today what I did was to sign out of iCloud and then sign in again and fortunately that is gone but I had a new issue!!!!!
* On iMessage all my contacts said Maybe XXXX.

This have been very annoying so far and I am becoming a very frustrated customer where some 6 months ago I was a really happy customer since iPhone 4!

Put your sh*t together !

iOS 11 is a shame for Apple in my eyes.
unstable, bugged, slow

i have iPhone 7 and since iOS 11 it feels like its iPhone 4

frustrated and disappointed
You need to buy na iPhone X to experience iOS 11 the way it was meant to be. There is a night and day difference between iPhone 7 and iPhone X when it comes to iOS 11. I own both phones and the X just flies on iOS 11 with zero delays and 10-11 hours of battery usage with 18 hours of standby while the 7 performs like a car stuck in a swamp struggling to get out.

Of course the X does have its bugs but no issues for me on the whole.

Yeah, whatever that is, it's not part of that.
Seems in absolute terms the just bad votes are now leading.

I have an 8 Plus, same processor as an X, and 2017 iPad Pro. iOS 11 still seems like a just out of beta OS. The issues are inconsistent and not seen by everyone. Some I read about here I’ve never had, no battery issues for instance. Other issues that I read about here I don’t see until the next OS version is released. But every one I’ve had I’ve seen reported here at one time or another. This will vary a lot but this is very buggy software. For those who say they are having no problems, just wait a while.

Is the very latest only available to some devices? I have a first gen iPad Pro and the latest I see is iOS 11 instead of 11.2.1.

it definitely is long before apple admitted to slowing down our iphones ... there have been numerous reports of lags and slowdowns on the iphone and apple know about that yet they didn't say anything or make a release about it I believed they should be sued for not disclosing that to users and for whatsoever reasons it just not right you can't hinder user experience by slowing down their phones all you can do is send them a reminder their battery wear level is critical and needs to be changed rather than slowing down their old iphones

yes the just bad votes are way upward now and it shows how bad ios 11 has turned out to be for most users
