I'm in favor of tricking / taunting the bugbear over to our side of the river then killing it when it's by itself.

Definitely. I don't want to end down here in the smelly basement and the idea of fighting both the bugbear and redbrands at the same time gives me that very idea.

So we lure him away, back into the passage that we came from, ok? So the question is how. I see the possibility to
a)use magic - but that would be one slot less that could be important down the road. If things go bad the redbrands will take notice and join into fighting us along the bugbear.
b)don't use magic - I could go ahead, right to the bridge in front of him and make him come after me. You could either sneak across the other bridge to get right behind him or wait till he followed me into the southeast passage (that's where we initially came from, right?) and attack him from behind - without mercy and with extreme prejudice...you know the drill*
c) ??

*cutting down the bridge while the beast is on it is still a possibility, but I fear the commotion and that the redbrands come looking. But thinking about it: we have to deal with them anyway so you, Pluto, could dress as one and scream for help once we lured the bugbear out of its chamber and inflicted a fight (and with we I mean you since we can't disguise ourselves as redbrands). They would come helping I guess and possibly attack the bugbear. We, the others could then attack them from behind with no remorse and.. not sure though, rather risky but could be fun pitting them against each other.

Also, what happened to our hostage? Is he still with us?

Also, I guess we all agree that tieing and gagging up that goblin and hiding it beneath some rubbish in our dark corner is not that bad of an idea.

Your spell is a level 0 spell so you can use it as much as you want without using a spell slot (the same as your light spell).

How about you use the spell to taunt the bugbear to cross the bridge to our side and then we jump all over it :). Portia (@Moyank24) should be able to ruin his day with some sneak attacks :D.

Grabbing the goblin was a good idea. We can question the goblin after we kill the bugbear.

Alright, let's do it this way, we should save our 'troubled bridge over water' thing for the redbrands anyway me thinks.

@ravenvii two last questions: how long is the bridge and is the stream somewhat loud or not (e.g. Would the noises of a battle be likely audible to the refbrands?) thx

The bridges are between 10 and 15 feet long. Not very long.

For one more time, there's no water down there. :)
