Whem i connect from my pc with vista i Can see the folders ön the iPhone but explorer tells me i only have read access and have to Change proxy . Bur i have no proxy. Anyone else with this problem? Could it be the router interfering?

Read my previous entry on Page 3 that explains how to set it up for windows users. You do not use Internet Explorer you use MY COMPUTER.

I'm in a troubleshooting conundrum here. I open the app on my iPhone and nothing appears in Finder. I checked and all the checkboxes under the Shared pane in Finder's preferences are checked to show up in the sidebar. Connecting to the phone via FTP or HTTP only results in two read-only folders.

Am I missing something here? IS there a setting I need enabled somewhere? Tried E-mailing the developer to convince them to publish ACTUAL support documents (instead of just telling me that my iPhone "should appear"), but have yet to see anything come of that.

Exactly the same issue here. Also e-mailed Veiosoft support just a couple of minutes ago at support@veiosoft.com.

I open the application, nothing appears in finder, but the application is connected through IP and FTP, apparently.

I also have a thread open on this, here.

Using an iMac

this app is so the canine's dangles. Just what I needed. Works flawlessly for me so far, and a breeze to set up.

For a recap for those not wanting to search back,
1. Launch the app on the iphone
2. Note the FTP address
3. Right click the Start menu
4. Click on Explore
5. In the Address bar type in the FTP address noted in (2) above and "Go"
6. The iPhone folders will appear for Drag and Drop copying.

I just got this app. I'm on windows.

Opened it, typed its FTP address into Windows explorer, and I was able to easily upload a picture and a MS Word document. Then I was able to view the picture (I like how I can zoom in to full resolution with this, as opposed to the iTunes photo resizing), and able to view the MS Word document.

I then tried uploading a MPG movie file, but when I tried to view it it said that the video format was not supported.

I uploaded a MP3 but it didn't play. I then renamed it so that there were no spaces in the name, and it was able to play fine then.

Is your desktop (or portable) that you're connecting to connected to your network wirelessly? I believe it has to be.

Sorry to have troubled you. I just restarted both my PC and the iPhone and then everything worked perfectly. So now I have all my wife's recipes (715 of them) on my iPhone :)

I got the App this morning and it works very well. Mac setup is super easy and PC is not as bad either. Very Stable and easy to use. I also was able to Use iphone VPN and access the files from the local network.

Basically i configure the VPN to connect to our local LAN via a Wifi network we have here in the office. The wifi has no access to the local network but allows me to VPN and connect locally. I then looked under the VPN status and got the IP it was using.

This is very usefull because if i forget something at work i can VPN in and have my college drop off the file in my phone.

I really want this app!!! But I need to find a "work around" for here at work where I do not have wireless access to my desktop. I realize I can install a wifi carde in my desktop - but that won't fly here in "corporate america" ... so how about this ...

Not sure if something like this exists >> purchase a wireless USB adapter, plug it into work desktop and this will act as an access point.

I know these USB adapters work when trying to access a router ... but I wonder if they will behave as an access point????

I heard back from support. DataCase will have iWork support, but he didn't know what the timeline was for it.

I tried it and it didnt work, the wifi dongle doesnt actually make the computer a wifi terminal that allows send/ receive. If any expert actually knows how to make this work then you will be a super duper mate!

Read the app description next time before you buy.
I did read the app description, I was just hoping it'd work anyway. If something like that did eventually work, it'd save me the time of having to convert everything into m4v.

By the way, I just tried it out at work and it works great. I connected the iPhone to the wireless and my (wired) Windows desktop machine is on the same network, so I was able to access the volumes right away over Windows Explorer FTP. I uploaded a PPT file and it took a little time to render, but then displayed just as I would want it to.

Has anyone hit a filesize limit in terms of pdfs? I wanna see if I can use this to carry pdfs of subway maps or bus scheds. That can be cool.

Oh and is there ever gonna be support for editing text?

Well, I tries a 36MB PDF. It worked, but it was slow and crashed the program once. I think the only limitation is based on what the iPhone memory can handle.

iWork file support

I heard back from support. DataCase will have iWork support, but he didn't know what the timeline was for it.

It's not true support, but if you check the "include a preview" option when saving Numbers and Keynote (and Pages?) files, a PDF is saved along with the file. The PDF is buried in the file package, but it's easily findable using the doc filter and DataCase reads it just fine.

Yep. I set up an ad-hoc network on my MacBook and connected my iPhone to it and everything worked SPLENDIDLY. However, I'd much prefer to use this product as they advertise it. I got an E-mail response from the developers and, naturally, all they tell me is that it "should be there."

Did I turn AFP off? Somehow?

[EDIT]So here's what worked for me finally:

Create an ad-hoc network (AirPort>Create a network).
Connect to it on your computer.
Connect your iPhone to it.
Start DataCase.
Transfer a file.
Delete the file.
Disconnect from that network.
Reconnect to regular Wi-Fi on your computer and iPhone.
Start DataCase.
Recheck and see if it's finally working for you and shows up in the Finder like it should.

That was the only way I could get it to work.[/EDIT]

In finder, you need to go to the "GO" menu, and then select "Network", and you should see your phone in there.
I have contacted the develop (who always replies my emails promptly), and he has stated that there has been experienced a bug in Leopard 10.5.4 where the Finder will not show the drive in the left-hand column under SHARED. He has stated that for some people a restart fixes it, but I haven't tested that yet.

Hopefully it will get fixed soon - it is still an awesome app though.

Cheers,
Chris :)

Nah, thanks though. They told me to do that too and it never showed up there either. The only way I could get it to work was by giving it a push, I guess, using what I wrote above. Which, by the way, made the iPhone show up in the sidebar and behave as it should.

Check your settings on your computer. It should automatically show up as shown. No need to do "go/network" It doesn't get any easier than this. Open Data Case and it automatically pops up.
