Update. Apparently I have no will power!:D So I was missing the Vision Pro. Not just because it is cool to have but because the media experience just can't be matched. Then I started to do more work and hobbies on the MacBook screen as opposed to being connected to my larger monitor.

So I thought, "Let's give it another go". This time there is less "Pressure" to justify owning it. I am using it daily for media but the real use is now as an extended Mac screen. This element has transformed my MacBook use and I now find the large screen really useful for lots of projects. First time round I think I was trying to ONLY use it as a stand alone device, now I am using a fuller set of its skills.

In summary and as discussed by many others, if you can find an engaging and valid use for the Vision Pro then it is an epic piece of Tech in my humble opinion.

Regards
Josh
PS. Feel free to mock me for my lack of will power 🙄

Not mocking you at all. Instead, congratulating you for taking a step only the brave ones have taken or are about to take.
I love my AVP too, not looking back in regret at all.

Good for you @josh bear. I don't yet own an AVP, but since UK launch, I have (or had!) purposely avoided having a demo, for fear that I would buy one on the spot! But caved in last week when passing an Apple Store and had the demo. I was impressed, but I left the store thinking 'it is not £3.5k impressive'....yet ever since, I cannot stop thinking about AVP & how much I would like to own one (in truth, mainly, if not solely for media consumption). Really don't know if I can avoid the temptation for much longer....not a good sign when I am reading up about light seal sizes and 3rd party headset straps 😂

Probably unlikely, but does anyone think that there will be any promotions on AVP during Black Friday week? Maybe an Apple Gift card for buying an AVP?

I have a AVP myself and starting reading your thread from the start only today, as soon as got to your post on day 10, saying you decided to return it, I was wondering if you would change your mind. Sometimes you need to experience the loss of a device to realise it was worth keeping after all :)

Thanks for the warm welcome back all😁. I am very much more relaxed about the AVP this time round. Use is up vs the first time driven by projects that really benefit a large screen. E.g. I am using it whilst exploring my and my wife's family tree and the screen real estate is great. Side Note. All my relatives appear to have worked in fields since the dawn of time and hers appear to have been rich / held titles at some point. This is very annoying for me but my wife is loving it🙄.

Very much looking forward to OS2 though.

Regards

Josh.

I just ran your question through the Magic 8 Ball.
It responded with “All signs point to No”

For what it’s worth, I had no intentions of buying one. I did a demo just because my nephew told me how impressed he was with it. As you might imagine, I loved it and started to think about all the ways I would use it. I bought one a week later and have never regretted it. I took panoramic photos, 4K and spatial videos on a recent trip. Just amazing in Vision Pro!

I doubt it, but you could always buy it using a credit card that gives you reward points, then use the points to pay your credit card back.
Apple Card will give you 3% and unless I'm wrong, the option to pay it over a year interest free (kind of rude not to do 2-year)
I would strongly recommend you getting AppleCare+ for it.
And no matter what, don't get the 256 GB model. Get 1 TB or at a minimum least, 512 GB. But never 256 GB.
Considering the amount of money you will be spending, it would be sad that you realize later on that 256 GB was too small.

I think that’s great advice. I got the 1TB so I could enjoy it without worrying about storage space.
AppleCare for sure!

Agree, that would be great on FOV. That said my current usage hasn't really provided me any issue with FOV, but more is always better. Last night I watched Infinity War in 3d, movie watching is a really epic experience. Going back to watch on a Mac or IPAD will be very hard if I decide to return the VP.

Becoming much more adept as navigation around the OS now and answering texts from my son whilst watching the movie in 3d highlighted the ability of the VP lenses. Also tried my first FaceTime call and I think I need to rescan my face as I was told I looked like an early Lord Voldemort! 🤣

So did you need to recapture spatial persona? Some said that their Personas look weird. Try taking off any hats and AirPods.
