Hello, when I get down to around number 18 or 19 which ever one requires you to type in the "scp" line, I type in that code with my IP Address from my iPhone and the terminal says No such file or directory. Does anyone know why this isn't working? Thanks.
Yep, you should be fine just moving over to an Intel mac - just need to redownload the file, obviously. I've updated the guide to reflect that you need Intel, forgot this caveat.
You probably didn't put the lockdownd file on your Desktop. Make sure the file is on your Desktop and try again.
well its ok as long as I can get it back, but one more quick question (as long as it works) if I get it back to 1.1.3 with my att service, can i go back to PPC mac because it has all of my music?
I did put it on the Desktop, when I type in the first chmod line, the icon on the desktop changes from a sheet of paper to the terminal icon then the second line isn't recognized.
im not to the restoring the cellular service steps yet but i was reading it and it looks like the directions are only for mac users. will it work if im on a pc?
here is what worked for me man.I did put it on the Desktop, when I type in the first chmod line, the icon on the desktop changes from a sheet of paper to the terminal icon then the second line isn't recognized.
I'm working on updating the steps for PC users, so you'll need to wait a few minutes. The problem is finding a good, free ssh client for Windows since nothing like 'scp' is available by default from the Windows command line.
Macintosh:~ xxxxmac$ scp ~/Desktop/lockdownd root@<xxx.xxx.x.xx>:/usr/libexec
-bash: xxx.xxx.x.xx: No such file or directory

PuTTY is pretty much the standard free SSH client for Windows.

do you know if the steps listed in theguide will work on putty?
Question--can any of you guys listen to DRM music on your jailbroken phones?I did it to mine, and that was one of the two problems I had. The other one was, even with the lockdownd thing, it took a long time to find the carrier after a reboot, and eventually it just stopped working altogether. Anyone else have similar experiences?
The one thing I do like about this is that its relatively safe--reflashing to stock 1.1.3 is easy, at any point. Just takes forever to reload 6 GB of crap on the phone.
Ok thanks I took away the bracketts and it worked now, I have a ? I was one of the iPhones that had 1.1.2 OOTB but this all worked still. I thought it wasn't supposed to work? But if I had a regular Jailed not Jailbroken 1.1.3 yesterday and had my music and everything backed up, then today I downgraded and Jailbroked it all, will it hurt anything to restore it to the back up from yesterday? Thanks.
I am at the part where you download the last file, but on rapidshare it shows me all these different places to download it from, just wondering, does it matter which one? I choose the first one and it downloaded lockdownd and the icon is just the blank page with a bent corner and same for the rest.
I've heard that many of the third party apps don't work on 1.1.3 because Apple altered the way that apps function like the location they run from and stuff. If I follow this guide exactly and complete everything correctly, is this going to happen?
Pretty much by the end of this will I be able to install 3rd party apps using installer and get them to run?
i got an incorrect sim error on the activate screen after downgrading twice to 1.1.1 is that normal?... kinda nervous now..
