Dell copying Macs!

hmm, well i think dell may just be making computers and trying to keep in business but then again i really don't know. :cool:

don't see much copying as all of the things you showed us are horribly ugly... however i did notice that those dell notebooks have become quite pricey now.

They may look different. I aggree with that. They rty to make it like the mac with the camera, eetc.

And the 2010 is not a copy of the iMac, it's a very interesting design meant to be an easily portable desktop. Not my thing but it certainly is an interesting idea.
 
Don't insult Apple like that. Claiming those... those... THINGS resemble a Mac in any way is blasphemy! BLASPHEMY I SAY! :mad: ;)

True. but the tread topic is the reason I said that. It is a great example of what the average person thinks of apple users. It be one person who say that and then keep driving it home. but this is a more extreme one but still a lot of threads are posted like this saying so and so coping apple and can not see that they could of come up with it on their own or got the idea from another location.

For desktops, dells new XPS 2010 is a huge ripoff of the iMac, costing a whopping $4000! This is the worst imitation of an iMac I have ever seen. However, I thought the eMachines eOne, taken off the market years ago was actually a reall and successfull attempt to imitate iMac G3. But this??? It has two hard drives, making a total capacity of 240, just making more noise compared to the iMacs single 250.

You're kidding right? Those things are ugly as sin. its what I would expect computers to look like if the Soviet union was still around and the state was building computers for the masses. no style... all function with no consideration for form.

I've never seen this. Hilarious. The display is the size of the iMac, but it then has all of THAT. Nice.
 
You know... now that I think about it... It might be the other way around! The Dells have been using Intel chips for years and years... and then Apple had to come along and Rip off their Idea to have intel chips in their computers!

Thats it Im switching back to where the real inovation is... DELL!

... in all seriousness, hardware design is really superficial now... the guts in dells, sonys,apples and many pc manufacturers are going to be very similar now... why? because they're all based on the same processors... further more having a built in camera is an obvious addition... apple didnt do it first, and even if Dell did... I would hope Apple wouldnt think twice about doing the same... its a great feature.

so when you say "they are copying apple" no, they really arent. they're just following the consumer Market trends... just as apple is doing, although I must say apple is in a better position to be creating the trends too.
there are Two big differences between those things to linked to and macs, one: those things are bulky and ugly, and two: they cant run OSX. So in my, and apparently many other mac user's opinion, they are very different.
no one means to jump on your back about it... but you have to admit that your logic is a little off.. that would be like saying that dell copied apple when releasing a computer with a cd-r drive... first off, I doubt either were the first, and second, if they didnt... they'd lose sales because that is a new feature that everyone will be looking for now.
now if they released a computer that looked exactly like the macbook pro...even having the light up logo on the lid that said "dell"
that would be a more legitimate "copy" but even then I could hardly blame dell for finally wanting to make a laptop that looked sexy.

Those Dells serve a slightly different purpose... and I think they look awesome, if that is the style you are looking for. As far as functionality the only drawback to "mac people" is the OS and accompanying sofware. Otherwise you are getting alot for your money. It really is funny that the OP thinks this is a MB imitation. It actually better in some aspects. (and the MB/MBP is better at others)

this is a prime example why most pc users hate mac people. i have a dell inspiron 700m and a mac mini. I like both machines for certain reasons. Your claims that dell is copying apple is just flat out ridiculous. maybe the macbooks are copying dell's 700m display that's called truelife? hmmmm why don't you do some researc and find out that other companies have been doing things for a long time. Just bc apple decided to do it one day doesn't mean they were the makers of it. So basically......Dell copied apple with their macbook display design, sony copied apple with the integrated webcam, Dell, HP, IBM, emachines, sony, toshiba etc all copied apple with their intel chips. All companies innovate one time or another. Apple has to do it all the time to keep people interested bc of the low market share. Seriously, the xps doesn't even somewhat resemble a macbook pro whatsoever. maybe bc they have the same screen size but that's about it. The m1210 has a truelife screen invented by apple and the legendary isight built in. and i don't even wanna talk about the other one...who the heck would buy that thing?

Anways, the point is....people like you give apple the bad name it gets from pc users. Even if i had only apple stuff I still wouldn't have the same attitude you have. Get a life and realize that other companies have thought of cool ideas before apple has....

I completly agree with you, Mac users can be VERY stuck up about how "great" their Macs are and how much Windows "sucks." Of course not every Mac user is like this and those that are aren't always like that, but there are enough...

oh yeah totally man. and those are the people that stick out like a sore thumb to the world and give apple a bad name. people have likes and dislikes. my problem is currently with apple's selection of notebooks. I don't feel like paying $1500 for a macbook that whines, moo's and burns the crap out of me when I type. My current 700m has better specs than that and I only paid $750 for it brand new and I haven't had a single problem....you don't see me hating on apple. Why can't people just like what they like......it's just a damn computer haha.
 
Rumor has it Dell is researching a way to make their laptops feature a high pitch whine and satisfying mooing sound. They are even talking about including those features free! I guess they really do copy Apple... :cool:
