You first admit that M$ Media Center edition came out first, then you agree that Front Row came out as a response to window's media center and then you go on to say that WMC edition is an imitation of Front Row. That makes little sense bro...

P.S. those dell's look nothing like Macs. The whole industry is putting cameras into their laptops. If anything Acer did that before Apple. Same goes for a few other companies.

This is why I hate MacRumors. You people are not friendly. I can't start a thread without it turning in to a giant fight. I am also always checking for white text.

Also I find the people on this site to be some of the nicest and most helpful peeps on the web. I've learned a good deal hear about computers in General and I've been told some good tips when I've been in a pinch.

Yes, the easiest explaination is that Dell saw the new Macbook, and within a week had a new compact high-end gaming laptop designed as a return salvo.

Nevermind that they're not in the same performance catagory, let alone price range.

They might has a similar thing like Apple but so do other PC Media Center was out be for FrontRow(and Frontrow is simpler) a Web cam in a Computer has been seen before, but Apple having it my have pressure Dell it add it. As for similar chips, well tons of people use Core Duo get over it

I don't understand my Dell is so popular. Whenever kids here computers in my school they think DELL yeah!

A lot of people in my grade have their little Dell laptops and they are always having problems and they come to me with their "I can't connect to the server, help" "it isn't working" "it crashed" etc...

I've stopped helping people in my school with their Windows laptops. More and more kids are getting Macs now. Mainly because of me showing off my school Powerbook and MacBook.

Nah, we are just waiting for Dell to wake up and find it is actually WalMart bashing Dell.

WalMart is trying, and likely Dell is their first target to swipe a chunk of marketshare.

Wouldn't surprise me to see Dell losing out on school contracts to Walmart some day.

Mate, nobody is putting any of Apples technological advances at stake! They always were inovators and anyone who can not acknowledge that needs to get laid even more desperately than the OP! It is just that that kind of ranting about anybody copying anybody in a time where industry standards dictate the rules is just absurd! Everybody offers the same +or- with a different package, brand and design! Apple have great features (wouldn't have one if it didn't) but pre-puberty rants from someone who says he gets affected after 5 days without a Mac... (like the OP)... Imacintel - girls are cool! Far cooler than computers! Mac, Dell, Acer, whatever! Go get one (just don't talk about computers)! Good luck!

lol, the post is complete. You have a point. I lived 14 years and 2 months without a Mac, and I didn't go crazy, or get affected by it. And true, Apple offers +, while Smeel offers -.

Dell's new XPSM1710 is a nice big fat ripoff of the macbook pro, and dell's new XPS1210 is a nice ripoff of MacBooks. I hate how everyone tryies to be like macs. just let people choose to buy a mac without suckering you in to Winblows!

For desktops, dells new XPS 2010 is a huge ripoff of the iMac, costing a whopping $4000! This is the worst imitation of an iMac I have ever seen. However, I thought the eMachines eOne, taken off the market years ago was actually a reall and successfull attempt to imitate iMac G3. But this??? It has two hard drives, making a total capacity of 240, just making more noise compared to the iMacs single 250.

I am very sick of this.

I have to agree that the specs of the M1210 are really close to the Macbook: the integrated graphics, 1280*800 small Widescreen, camera, wireless, media center, core duo,...
The design is different, and extremely ugly, it's larger, but there are much more I/O ports (especially Video compared to the Macbook's mini-DVI)

But... This is in fact very positive because, if you look at the price, you can clearly see that no longer cost more for the same specs (regardless of software), which was really not that relevant because of OS X, but many switchers focused on that. If they offer prices comparable to Dell, than what arguments are left?
