I buy my devices outright, always have, always will.

But I will never buy AppleCare outright. You can get it on the $5.99 monthly option, which is cheaper unless your keeping your iPad for 2 years Minimum.

For example, my last iPad Pro 11” had AppleCare + premium on it, the device had minor touch issue symptoms so I sold it, I was only out $6 bucks, and I was able to update the payment information where the new owner was charged for all future AppleCare+ payments instead of me. Obviously, the new owner gladly obliged and he was jumping out of his seat that it had AppleCare+

Ive since bought a 1TB iPad Pro new, then added AppleCare+ on it for $5.99 every month too. So, if I keep it a year it only cost $70 bucks for Apple care+ premium.

It is a win win for me! I can smash my $1,700 iPad tomorrow and $50 bucks buys me a replacement, or I get a new display.

Totally worth it! I can’t afford to buy another 1TB cellular iPad. I was hurting after buying it to begin with lol.

I always buy Apple Care+ as I’ve learned from Youtubers. Towards the end of the 2 year Term just Smash your iPad Pro to pieces film it. And you get income from YouTube views and AppleCare + will get you essentially a new iPad Pro.

I put my 10.5 iPad Pro in my back pack yesterday in its usual pristine condition. Got to work, took it out to find what you can see in the photo - one corner smashed to bits with 3 massive cracks end to end screen wide. Gutted. My iPad is my daily driver so it’s an important device to me.

Thankfully I had AppleCare+. Jumped on the Apple Support app and kicked off a live chat within seconds. Within 5 mins a case was raised and new iPad ordered. No fuss. £39 charge. It would have been £369.

Less than 19hrs later, UPS just dropped off my “new” iPad.

This is why I buy Apple. Yes, it’s more expensive but the products are premium and the service is second to none.

That is impressive! Very good post!

Yea well, with touch issues going on with the 3rd gen iPad Pro it is a gamble. With my experience 1 out of 3 has no touch issues. So, it is pretty likely if someone smashed there iPad, Apple will mail them a bad one lol.

Dell similarly, at least in my experience in the UK, provides brilliant service with their extended warranties which often now include cover for accidental damage. I always buy the best available, the last being four years on a laptop.

I’d be careful about posting it because it covers accidental damage, if you damage it on purpose and Apple somehow finds out they have grounds to deny to service.

I purchased AppleCare+ for my iPad Pro. I feel like the peace of mind if something happens to it is well worth the money. Besides, $49 for a replacement due to accidental damage is way better than the hundreds I would have to spend without it. I try to take care of all of my gadgets, but who knows what the future holds.

Yeah I’ve never seen one posted real account of this happening. Not saying it’s not possible. Just Never seen a shred of proof.
You literally make more money buying Apple Care + smashing your own iPad Pro. Filming the destruction. Getting views and ads. Maybe $200 worth. And a new iPad Pro well refurbished.
