I seem to set it off all the time for some reason when moving the mouse across 3 monitors.
Me, too. I have two 24" monitors, and it comes on every few minutes, generally when I'm going from screen to screen. I've yet to want it to come on, but I see it dozens of times a day. (it just came on, typing out this message and reaching for "Post Reply" button.

It'll be good if someone finds a Terminal command to shut it off.

I also find the cursor to be annoying with how it enlarges all the time and I'm only using a single display. However, I do use a Razer Abyssus for my mouse, so the sensitivity of that probably has something to do with the cursor enlargement.

boy oh boy, yes sometimes people diss feature that latter they cant live without it happens but its not the truth for every single feature they dont like, this mouse thing is one of those pointless thing that i doubt steve job team would of let happen,

it takes more time to make it big then to actualy find it,
even tho no one probably search for it as they just push their mouse towards what they want to click on

and then adjuts the trajectory as they see it get close,

yes apple will add an option to disable that , and if they dont someone will find a way or write an app to turn it off

im extrlemey annoyed by it as it keeps getting big as im doing my regular stuff

I didn't notice this until now, but now that I know it's there I'm going to subconsciously trigger it all of the time and I can see that getting annoying.

As long as you hold in something ( like you drawing something) the mouse pointer will not be larger when you draw! :)

I'm triggering this all the time. Just moving the mouse between tab 1 and 4 in Chrome at a certain speed will trigger it on my 24" display. Very annoying. There must be some hidden defaults plist setting to disable this.

I know there were a few games which their player base kept losing track of their mouse on the screen. Could be geared towards them, maybe?

for me the shake to find the cursor was completely buggy. the first 10-15 mins of usage my mouse curse kept scaling up every time i moved my mouse. but nonetheless when the beta is over apple has to give you an option to turn it off. it was never a problem for me to find the cursor. this whole feature seems like an accesability option most people dont need or want.

I've found references to the FindMyCursorEnabled option in the CoreGraphics framework, however it doesn't seem to be externally configurable on quick check. It also appears to be part of WindowSnap preferences which seems a little strange to me so it might be actually something different.

I've yet to accidentally trigger the large cursor and I've been using the PB since it launched. I think y'all have some weird usage habits.

How can they make this feature and make it mandatory? my experience with this is that the cursor constantly flahes between big and small at random times, it triggers just by lifting the mouse sometimes, and I have zero use for this.

I'm sorry but this is clearly a result of Craig Federighi and/or Tim Cook (and probably other board members) getting old and not being able to see as well, they probably demanded this feature so they could more easily "find" the mouse cursors on their 5k iMacs etc...sad when the old guys start showing signs of failure

The OS does not trigger in on shaking, it triggers it when the cursor has moved a certain distance at a certain speed (see above image)
I'm guessing it has to do with 3rd party mouse + DPI setting + medium/low OSX mouse setting = OS mistaking the mouse for travelling too far/too fast.

IT was even worse for me. The first 10-15 minutes after a boot up the mouse constantly scaled up from me even touching the mouse. I had to revert back to Yosemite.

It's pretty hard to activate this now in DB4. I only use an inbuilt trackpad and now it really takes some effort to get the shake-to-expand thing to do its stuff.
