I'd say if it gets to past 12:00 in the afternoon in California, then there's no chance of a release on Thursday.

But up until 12:00 who knows? ^_^

I mean, it's obviously likely that they'll release OS X Lion right as the open the stores on Thursday, if they're releasing it (which of course they will!!!!!). But there's the chance that maybe they'll wait until the chime of 12? Nah... probably not. But it's a wait-and-see thing. We'll have to wait and see eh?

But, given the offchance that they aren't releasing it today (Thursday), my bet is on Friday, Saturday, Monday, or Tuesday. My chances of winning that bet? Relatively high. Why? Because I'm betting on a large chunk of the second half of the month they plan to release. :D

Lol, you guyz are too much optimistic... This has been here like 4 times over and over again. I still don't belive that MBA will be released before 19th. If this would be true, it would be on front side of MR.

Last 3 or 4 OSX releases have been Fridays, but to me that means it's probably unlikely that the MacBook Air will come on the same day. I can't remember a hardware release on a Friday.

Anyone know what time 12pm California is in the UK? It seems as though my hopes have been raised for no reason...I'm now convinced that Tuesday will be the release.

Am I hoping for too much when I want an internal WWAN solution? I don't want to connect / use my iPhone4 every time I want internet access "on-the-fly".

With integrated WWAN the MacBook Air 11" could take my Apple iPad's place as it's darn light and easy to take with me everywhere I go.

Fact - your estimate was off by almost 25% which makes it neither close, accurate or intelligent. You don't have a source for anything, and it's beyond doubt that every single one of your numbers was just plain made up.

Opinion: Your tone is beyond patronizing, you post to hear yourself speak, and you get defensive when called out for fabricating figures.

The sad part is that I agree with the fact that it isn't overpriced - the easy way to make that point is to point at the sales numbers (which are phenomenal, 1.1 million a quarter), because if it was overpriced, it would hurt sales, which clearly isn't the case. That's it, and all that needed to be said.

I think you are confusing Apple's manufacturing costs for with what PW is talking about (perceived consumer value)... They are totally different ideas.

What was the overnight for? Anybody planning to visit apple store? I suppose that over night was only a rumor in itself.

Now you're really truly falsifying numbers. Apple's profit margin on the Macbook Air is not representative of the fair market value of each particular component within the Macbook Air.

I actually don't post to hear myself speak, nor do I post to read what I've typed. I neither speak while I type nor read what I've already typed (unless if I'm proofreading). First you mentioned you dislike my "novel-like" posts, and now you are claiming that I somehow get off to my own tone or words or something? Maybe you need to re-evaluate yourself here..

"Fair market value"? :)

Def: 'Fair market value' is the absolute maximum you gouge right before they scream uncle.

isn't this all sort of a contradiction? or is it just me :D

I don't know about "fair" market value, but I can certainly tell you what market value is.

Seeing no evidence of the overnight at all (not a single photo, have you?), I'm feeling like that was just a rumor.

If the stores haven't changed at all or don't have any black curtains dangling right now, it probably isn't happening.
