Seeing no evidence of the overnight at all (not a single photo, have you?), I'm feeling like that was just a rumor.

If the stores haven't changed at all or don't have any black curtains dangling right now, it probably isn't happening.

I agree. Apple stores in the Eastern, Central, and even Mountain time zones have now been open for at least an hour. I haven't seen anything to indicate that there have been any store changes in any of those stores.

question?

since they are all on different time zones in the usa, what do the stores on the east coast do if apple doesnt announce it til those stores open say at 9AM?

Will the east coast and other stores have to still sell old ones and not be able to show lion until 12, when apple announces it on the west coast, and then they just magically switch all the display airs to the new ones?
how does that work

im not believing anything that any site says for a second any more.
I have just accepted that it will come out when it comes out and all these rumors have been, are, and will be bs, until once every day in july has been rumored and then the guy that luckily got it right and ppl hop on his D.
All i am going by is july, (95% at least), and i'll be happy whenever the day is.

Last 3 or 4 OSX releases have been Fridays, but to me that means it's probably unlikely that the MacBook Air will come on the same day. I can't remember a hardware release on a Friday.

Agreed, I could see it coming out tomorow, but not with a hardware release until tuesaday, have they ever released hardware along with an OS before? I dont know as this will be my firswt mac

Also WTF was in the boxes? Someone must have seen whats in them by now, and was there actually a overnight? Was it for training on Lion?

They're still unopened per the instructions from Supply Chain.

The iPad 2 was released on Friday -- Friday, March 11th. I had gone to the Apple Store that day to buy a new MacBook Pro. Unfortunately I timed it as badly as possible, getting there at 3:05PM (or maybe it was 2:05PM).....5 minutes after they shut the store down for 2 hours to take down the old iPads and set-up the new ones. I had to then kill 115 minutes, then come back and wait in line one of two lines outside the store (one line for iPad buyers, another for everything-else),

If you think about it......if you have to shut down a retail store for 2 hours, doing it in between lunchtime and getting-off time makes the most sense.

So for those of you with antsy pants, I would call your Apple Store mid-afternoon today n tomorrow to get an idea what's shakin. If they just received the boxes of new stock, as we presume, they will most certainly be ready to go by Friday @ 5:00PM.

Honestly its pretty incredible that a company as massive and popular as Apple can keep this information under wraps.

You'd think there'd be at least one bad apple per release that would leak the info.

Maby the correct info is leaked, but there is so many rumors that it is impossible to tell the true from the false.

I like your use of a play on words ;)
And I agree with your statement. You kinda just expect a leak because of all the different people involved before the unveiling.

LOL there was an inventory overnight last night. Nothing uncommon.

So are you back-tracking now on your original thread-starting statement that "do not open" stock arrived yesterday?

Or are you saying "do not open" items arrive all the time?

That's a class act. Nice suit.

I like the white vinyl seats. It looks like something out of a Bowery used furniture joint. And even in this grainy photo you can tell the table is lousy veneer. And what is the poor fool drinking?
Is that a Rolex or Omega? LOL

And what is the poor fool drinking?/QUOTE]

...the joke is that "The Most Interesting Man in the World" doesn't drink, but when he does, he prefers Dos Equis.

I couldn't tell if you were being sarcastic or not, so I figured I'd offer an explanation, at any rate...

That picture's my wallpaper now.

New Air. Here's to the future.
