I travel all over the world and always carry some local currency. In the US, I have $20 in small bills for anything that might come up. You never know.

I’m glad I read this thread. I didn’t know that there was a MagSafe wallet for iPhone that I can use to hold my cash. It will save a lot of space in my pockets, and I can still use it for restaurant tips and at small businesses that only accept cash. There is even enough room for my credit and debit cards.

In Sydney, contactless payments are everywhere. Card is almost universally accepted, though some merchants give slightly cheaper purchase price in cash to avoid paying card transaction fee.

Because of this, I haven’t been consistently using cash for over 10 years, thus not feeling the need to carry cash/cards most of the time. Apple Pay and that’s it.

Only 50 bucks in cash. Some id cards in physical wallet but i pay mostly with Apple Pay. The only thing i changed, i ditched my credit card for a debit card.

Apple Pay is still not in enough places for me to always count on it, so I carry my card, and occasionally I have cash, but not often.

Apple and Google pay are everywhere I go in the UK but every so often my bank says no and I have to use the card.

This happened so long ago in an apple store and I didn't have my card with me. It saved me some money because I never went back to buy. 😁

My stupid bank doesn't support Apple Pay yet, but luckily it will soon- or so the say. I have to use Vipps (its almost as Apple Pay, but not as good) until my bank start supporting Apple Pay. I have my cards with me, just to be sure because Vipps isn't always stabile and I don't want to not be able to pay.

Unfortunately, in Italy, you need to have physical ID and driving licence. So I need to have this two as I need to have my working badge with me. My bank allow Apple Pay (that is everywhere) and smart withdrawal with bank’s app so I basically bring one of my credit cards only as a back up for emergencies.

Nothing that Apple Magsafe Wallet could not handle, but the main problem is that I’m not able to dismiss my beautiful Montblanc leather wallet 😂😝

Accidentally put this to the test by losing my wallet for two days this week. I wasn't too worried since I knew it had to be SOMEWHERE in the house, and the only real effect was that I had to remember to go to 7-11 instead of the locally-owned donut shop for a sugar fix.

Technically 7-11 takes Apple Pay, but they also have their own digital wallet thing which I prefer for small purchases since I'm old enough that putting less than 5 bucks on a card seems weird.

Cash, no. Cards, yes. This is for the rare occasion that place I’m in doesn’t support Tap to Pay. But I prefer using my iPhone for payments and transit.

With that said, the obvious question is: have I ever been at a position where I needed to use my card? The answer is no, so admittedly, the only other reason I’m carrying my cards around at this point is anxiety.

I probably use Apple Pay for 98-99% of my daily transactions these days. But, I still carry cash and cards for the 1-2% of the time I need them. I've ditched a bulky wallet entirely though.

Well, when in my country I never take the wallet with me, always pay using my iPhone or, mainly, my Apple Watch.

But I’m working for a time in Canada and it has been surprising for me that I have to take again the wallet, since most places have a limit for tap to pay option, and a low one of about 150-200$, and higher than that you have to insert your card for paying.

Cash, no and realistically other than some very niche cases, I haven't really carried cash for about a decade or more?

Cards, yes, but since getting an Apple Watch, I haven't pulled them out once. I carry them just in case, but I haven't had a situation where I needed them in last 4 months since I got the watch.
