I used a straight-edged rubber case on my iPhone 11 because I didn't like its rounded edges.
Meanwhile, I stopped using it altogether and went back to my SE 1st gen, held safely in its Vaja case.

I’ve been going through a progression from protective cases like the Phone Rebel and Nomad Rugged, to thinner cases like the Apple Silicone and Caudabe, to super thin cases like the aramid Pitaka and Benks. I’m now using the Arc Pulse, which is perhaps the last step before going fully caseless.

I'm thinking about going caseless and even tried it for a few days and the phone felt way lighter in my pocket.

Since ever I owned smartphones even Flagship Android phones, never ever dropped any phones.

And even when I text someone I never use one handed texting as I hold the phone with only two hands.

I will run a trial period without a case until the Ringke Onyx arrives which I decided to go order.

I used my 13 Pro for 3 years caseless—honestly I wouldn’t do it again.

The screen was supremely scratched by the time I upgraded to the 16PM, and the stainless steel frame had a lot of nicks on it, especially on the corners.

Sure, if you’re super diligent and never set the phone down anywhere without wiping the surface down first, you’ll probably fare better—but I travel, I like the beach, and I don’t like treating things like they’re overly precious.

My 16PM is in the Apple Silicone case which I really like, and though I still don’t use a screen protector, the lip when placing the screen facedown has been beneficial.

I'm using the iPhone 15 Pro Max without a case and I have no scratches on the edges, the screen if it has small scratches that look in the light, but honestly it seems to me that it's more of a problem with Apple and its glass than anything else, because the Galaxy Fold wears it in the same way (without a cover, in secluded pockets, never together or with other things) and it has no mark in the 4 months I've been with it. On the iPhone that has been 8 months, from the beginning I found some scratches...

Never used a case. My iPhone 12 Pro is physically fine… sure, you see scratches if you angle the display to a light when the display is off. You don’t see them when using the phone, which is the important bit. iPhone is a tool, not a piece of jewelry. And even if it WERE jewelry, I wouldn’t put it in a case either! 🤣

I regularly go between case and caseless, even regularly changing mid-day.

After a year and a few months my 15 Pro had some small nicks on the frame in the top and bottom left corners, from where I dropped it down the stairs one day. The back glass did get a visible (but surface level) scratch across the Apple logo. I haven’t used screen protectors in about a decade, and my screen looked fine. A few hairline scratches and one small one you could feel but was almost impossible to see.

When I went to trade my phone in, I received the full value, so it was all within normal wear and tear.

I do that occasionally but tend to dislike the feel of a slippery iPhone in my hands. That said, I tend to prefer a back on the device and default to Gelaskins for that (I use my own photos). At present I have a case but a Gelaskin is on order…

I usually go ceaseless, with the caveat that I have AppleCare+. I currently have a 15 Pro and it’s held up pretty well, especially with having two young children. I have dropped it once, so the front screen has several scratches on it, but the back and the frame are still in mint condition. I usually am pretty careful with my Apple products, but accidents do happen, so that’s why I usually get AC+.

I have gone caseless on my 13 Pro the last few months without any issues despite a few falls. I do have AppleCare+ and wouldn't dream of doing this without it. I would recommend using a screen protector to protect that from scratches.

Caseless on every phone since 12 series. Do use a screen protector on all phones since I hate micro scratches, but I've had no problems with catastrophic damage and even if I did I have AC+ as a fall back.

Wouldn't dream of using a big bulky case on my phone, but I have used Benks cases on occasion the last couple years and that's the extent of it.

I’ve never had a case on an iPhone.

4S -> 6S Plus -> 11 -> 13 mini -> 16 Pro.

After a couple years, they get scuffed up and get lots of tiny scratches and dings on the glass and on the frame, but nothing major. In my opinion that’s a fine tradeoff. I hate cases. They make the phone look and feel worse, make it impossible to get it in and out of pockets, attract dust and grime, make it harder to use with mounts, clamps and stands.

I’m pretty OCD about my other devices, am very careful with my Macs and usually have a folio on my iPad. But iPhones are always caseless.

I beat up on my phones. In the old days when iPhones were not tough a plastic case would last me about two months before it fell apart. Apple's thin leather cases survived OK but did show the wear and tear. Modern iPhones are so tough that they do not need to be protected by a case. Why an adult would need to put a tacky $100 case on a beautiful $1000 iPhone is beyond me. Kids IMO should be required to use Pelican cases, Otterbox, etc.

Just my $0.02 of course. And I carry an iPhone Pro Max in my front pants pocket, so the more slippery caseless phone is a good thing. Large iPhones can fit tightly. Some folks reportedly have trouble holding on to a phone. I do not really understand that but if true I guess those folks need a case to hang the phone around their necks or whatever.

Without the case my phone would have died long time ago. And it's cheaper to replace a broken case than a broken phone...
Hiow old is your iPhone? Certainly no 13-14-15-16 Pro iPhone would "Without the case my phone would have died long time ago."

Modern iPhone Pros are tough.
