Unfortunately code is invalid I’m guessing because the skin I chose is already on sale.

I ordered this one and can’t wait till it gets here !!

I had a look&feel of the TechWoven case at the Apple Store today. It's just another plastic case, as far as I can tell. Not even a pretty or protective one. I wouldn't pay more than $20 for it.

Don’t use a case but have used fitbag sleeves for every phone since about the iPhone 6.

Love these things as they have microfibre inside so when you take the phone out it’s smudge free every time. I prefer not using traditional cases but find these sleeves a good middle ground as they have some protection when I’m not using the phone. Top quality and recommended. Pic is of my latest one for my iPhone air but doesn’t really do it justice…

IMHO, it's cheaper to spend $100 for a proper case preemptively than $350 for a screen replacement or other costly repair. I've always used cases and screen protectors, no matter what phone I use, or whatever results from those YouTube reviews showing people slamming phones against concrete blocks, dropping from 50' up, letting King Kong stomp or do other things on it, etc, reveal.

With my iPhone 17 Pro Max on preorder (arriving later this month, can't wait!), Is there a particular brand or model of case that is preferred to ensure that no 5' drop will dent or crack it? I am torn between UAG Monarch Pro (kevlar $99 or titanium $84) and Supcase (UBGrip Pro,black, #32.99 sale), though I'd read slightly more negative customer reviews from the UAG, which seems unusual.

Also, are those little glass lens protector cover discs worth the $10~$20?

Thanks much!

What about those who have Apple Care+? Ive never had to use it, but it's $29 for a screen replacement. Cheaper than most cases.

That being said, I have used many $4-$15 cheap cases from Amazon on many iPhones and have always had good luck (if they are junk they get sent right back). There's no need to spend a lot on a case or screen protector. A lot of them are all made in the same Chinese factories and then rebranded as their own brand and marketed differently.

It does cost extra money upfront for AppleCare+, as well as time to wait while the phone is serviced? Not a bad point and AppleCare+ does cover a lot (and hopefully one wouldn't have to use it), as mine is on preorder I will see into ordering it too (thanks for mentioning!)

Good point. Same factory, different product and design and specifications to fit the phone perfectly (for most brands). But Supcase, Spigen, Tongate do all look different, as do Otterbox and UAG. What bugs me is the camera plateau being uncovered in the latter two brands.

I dont know the exact cost of Apple Care+ as it is combined with the monthly payment since I'm on Apple's iPhone Upgrade plan. Its somewhere in the $10-11/mo range I think.

i generally go caseless. but i always like to put my iPhone into a fitbag if its in my backpack.

What’s the advantage of fitbags? They’ve always seemed the worst of all worlds to me.

1. It’s in a sleeve so it’s now bulkier in your pocket
2. It’s slower to answer a call or use the phone because you have to remove the phone from the sleeve
3. One hand has an added distraction of holding it while also using the phone
4. The phone is completely unprotected during the time when it’s most at risk of being dropped - when you’re actively using it

Yes I’d agree I don’t think they’d suit everyone but for people like me who don’t like cases they’re great.

To answer your points I’d say:
1. Yes it is bulkier but they are very thin and I don’t mind it as the phone is protected when I’m not using it and just carrying it around.
2. Yes for sure though I have developed a technique where I just twist the bottom of the sleeve and it pops the phone out the top so is quick if needed.
3. True but I’ve personally never been bothered by this. I hold it behind my phone. It may annoy some.
4. Correct. It’s a trade off I’m willing to take as I prefer using phones caseless. If you’re happy to take that risk then they’re a good product in my opinion. If you’re not then they’re probably not for you.

These don’t solve many problems or protect like a fixed case does but in situations like mine and for what they are they’re brilliant.

Thanks!

I'm getting my phone from the carrier (still on preorder) so I should be able to purchase AC+ once the phone arrives (60-day window when purchasing the phone from a separate vendor, if I recall...)

Do you feel more inclined to use a case on the Air than other iPhones or less inclined? If so, please explain why. Thanks

I thought I would go caseless but the apple cases are very nice. I’m going to use it sometimes at work and on trips but not at home. And it’s still a LOT lighter with a case than a max pro.

With a rather clumsy wife, sticky fingered one-year old daughter, and 200sqm of hard flooring a case is a must. The little one has already knocked my Air off the breakfast bar while it was attached to a reasonably heavy Qi2 charger so very glad I went for a case.

The Air is not a JCB or CAT tough phone so dropping it onto a hard surface will likely cause damage, which is why I would be using a case.

If I was concerned about thickness, a nice thin and stylish Pitaka case would suffice.

I rarely case any phones, and a case on the Air would interfere with me touching on them smooth edges. If I had a kid running around and playing with the phone, I'd have a case, 3 cameras, 2 speakers, and a screen protector.
