Caseless here, though I do put it in an ‘essentials’ case when cycling. Just keeps the sweat off it and maybe stop it bouncing out of the pocket if I crash.

Had my iPhone 12 caseless for 5 years and it looked decent enough when I went to sell it last week after getting the Air.

I just received a Totallee Scarf frosted clear case and love it. It is so light and thin it feels like there is nothing on the phone so it preserves that thin light feeling but will offer some protection to the camera bar and edges

Caseless with privacy tempered glass. Since 8 plus I bought two or three Apple cases that finished unused. This time I picked up only one cheap jetech, clear, for selected potentially dangerous situations.

I made an iPhone Air-specific poll/thread to see and hear if it was unique from other iPhones in regards to needing a case, then it was merged into this general poll/thread by a moderator. Now the poll data is lost. Completely defeated the purpose, thanks, moderator.

I have a 17 Pro Max in Silver. I love the way the phone looks and feels without a case. I'm pressing ahead with enjoying the phone caseless, and have no plans to buy a case.

The smooth corners make it so nice to hold. There is no phone case that can continue to offer that experience.

Anyone else planning to roll caseless with the 17 PM?

I agree that the rounded back feels very comfortable. I’m just quite nervous with dents. Scratches wouldn’t bother me as much, but a dent would really kill me - especially around the edges of the screen. Seems that the glass holds up really well, but the frame, not so much.

Are there any thin clear cases like this without the circle and line? I know it’s for the magnets but it completely ruins the look of the back.

No case, no screen protector, no Apple Care...

Nothing at all.

In my entire life, I've only broken the screen on one phone and it still worked (I bought a new one anyway).

If I drop my phone again and it breaks... I'll buy another one. Simple as that.

There's no way I'm going to use a phone in a ****ing case.

No case. Never ever had one since iPhone 3G. Not on 4,5, 5s, 6... [...] 14 Pro Max & now 17 Pro Max.
Useless. Simply put. Never had one damaged or broke. Some micro scratches (I believe 3 or 4 over all those years, but very very minor signs of wear).

I use tempered glass tho, not because of anxiety my screen breaks, but I don't like micro scratches on the _always_ visible part of the phone.

Totallee does sell a non MagSafe case as well that does not have the ring they have clear , frosted clear and a bunch of colors in that style

I put on this carbon fiber case from Pitaka for my new iPhone Air this afternoon. I love that this case is so thin and light that it does not take away from the overall look of my iPhone Air. Very highly recommended for those looking for a nice case that will still protect your phone yet remain incredibly thin. I have used Pitaka carbon cases on my iPhone for years now.

No case, no screen protector on my 17 Pro. Signed up for monthly AC+ but I’ll probably cancel it. $14/month is pretty steep, it doesn’t cover cosmetic damage to the aluminum body, and the glass replacement cost isn’t bad out of pocket.

I’ve gone case free with most iPhones I’ve owned, and never broken one from a drop. Only time I’ve had AC+ was for my case-free 14 Pro and never used it. So I feel like my lifetime of never buying nor using AC+ will make up for any cost if I damage this thing.

I used to go caseless. But then I stopped, due to one of three reasons with any given phone:

(1) Discomfort. The iPhone SE 2016 (or iPhone 5 if you prefer) had these sharp corners I disliked. So I got a case.

(2) Materials. I tend to have very dry hands, especially in the colder weather. I dropped my OG iPhone more than once when it just slid out of my hand. I haven’t used one for that specific reason yet…but it’s on my list.

(3) The #%?!&@$ camera bump. I understand the need for extra length in the lens, and I appreciate better photography tech. But I hate the wobble. My phone spots on my desk for many hours. The iPhone SE 2020 was my first that I had to deal with it. Case. My current iPhone 13 mini was better but not all the way. Case. I should be getting my new iPhone 17 pro any day now. In this specific respect, it should be much better…but I have read that the lowest camera lens protrudes far enough beyond the camera plateau to still leave a wobble. Probably case.

My favorite iPhones will probably be my 4S and my beloved 5c. Caseless, attractive, perfect. It was a different time, lol.

Stopped using screen protectors but still use cases. Realistically I know it won't stay pristine regardless because of trapped dust etc but it's mostly for grip and to stop table wobble.

What about using a sleeve/slip-on? Keeps out pocket lint. No protection during use, but you get to use a naked iPhone with better button response and perhaps better grip since it’s not as wide. Can’t instantly use the phone though as you need to take it out of the slip on sleeve

Clean the phone every 2-3 weeks if you care about preventing the anodisation from becoming scratched.

Always use a case and screen potector eventhough I have Apple Care. It is just one less thing to have to think about. I have used Spigen cases and screen protectors as they are good cases and affordable. The screen protecotors are especially a good value and a breeze to apply. I currently use a Caudabe Sheath case on my iPhone 14 Pro and am awaiting a Caudabe Sheath case for an iPhone 17 that should be here in late October. As for the screen protectord I bought a Dbrand Prism mostly because it has an idiot proof application tray. To me, the Sheath case feels good in the hand and is not obtrusive. It is on back order. I have used a case for years so I am not bothered by covering the phone.

I also added a Flowlab screen protector to my Air to complete its protection. Personally, with the money I spent to get this amazing iPhone, I want to keep mine in pristine condition. The iPhone is still very thin and with the case and screen protector installed, does not take away from just how thin and remarkable this new iPhone really is...

It's always good to add a layer of protection if you want to keep your iPhone looking brand new over the long term. :apple:

I'm at home watching Red Zone. No case, only at work.

So you guys can't take it off while at home? Great time to feel and enjoy your purchase and while at it clean both. Just saying.

Realistically, you'd probably end up paying more for AppleCare+ over the years than you would on a phone repair/replacement.

I do have AC+ for peace of mind and express replacement service. That said, it's probably not the most financially prudent choice unless you break your phone once a year or something.
