That's me too. When I'm out and about, the iPhone will always be right on me, but at home it'll of course often be in another room and that's when notifications on the AW become extra handy. I also use the timer a lot, and Siri more often at home than away.

Not to mention the fact that home will be where I always put my iPhone somewhere and can't find it just when I'm about to go out........ Gotta LOVE the ping iPhone function!

Yup. When I'm home, it's telling me who called/texted, what my schedule is (Reminders and Calendar), breaking news updates (CNN), up-to-the-minute weather so I don't need to check my phone before I go out (Dark Sky), controlling music (finding it especially useful outside right now, because it's very cold, and I don't have to pull my phone out of my pocket to change songs), cooking timers, reminding me to stand up every hour so I can go get snacks...Siri can probably do some stuff I'm not even aware of.

I bet there are some more really useful apps out there, but I don't know what to look for. Just found out there was something for tracking water consumption. Good for the health-conscious. Could be reminding me to drink water while I'm home.

Curious if being able to reply to texts through the watch would change anything (i.e. If I would leave the phone and walk around the house with the watch).
We live in a one-room efficiency, and I already enjoy being able to leave my phone unattended.

At work, many of us leave our phones in our lockers, so when I don't have my phone on my person, it's usually out of range of my watch anyway. I've brought the phone along to some activities, and the watch allows me to keep it stashed in a pocket or plugged into an outlet while filtering any notifications that would otherwise interrupt me. This was what I expected of the watch, though.

At home, or pretty much anywhere I go with my wife, I think it's even better. I can put the phone down and not look at it for hours. But, I can still get texts, see who's calling, and send some replies without having to drop whatever I'm doing and grabbing the phone off the laptop stand. When we go out, I can put my phone in her purse, taking away its temptation to distract me from, say, trying to figure out her taste in clothes.

I'm still struggling with that "taste" thing, but I feel more involved with her now. That's gotta be worth a lot.

I put my AW on when I wake up, and I take it off when I go to bed and put it on the charger. I also work from home so much of the time I'm wearing it is at home some weeks.

I am another "first thing on, last thing off" user. The watch extends my phones battery life.

You make a really important point. I remember looking at this guy's stats, in one of the threads about 6s/6s Plus battery life. He was getting crazy time, and I didn't understand it, because I noticed his apple watch icon registered some usage, and he said the watch is always connected.

You would think bluetooth being on all the time would drain the hell out of the battery. I guess it's not the case if you're waking the phone on a far less basis. May even save some battery.

I've got bluetooth + Dark Sky location services running on my phone all day, and I haven't noticed a difference, at all, in my charging pattern.

True, this is a good point. Since getting my AW this summer I've not had a single care about my 6 Plus' battery. I mean, I didn't exactly have battery issues with it before that either, but since then I've literally not had to give it a single thought.

i put it on before I get out of bed in the morning. I take it back off after my workout to put it on the charger while I'm in the shower. then I put it back on for the rest of the day until I go to bed. I take it off and put it on the charger once I'm in bed for the evening.

short answer: YES I wear my watch at home.

Definitely. As others have stated, home is one of the best places to wear it. Before I even considered an AW, I had become sick of carrying my phone around on me absolutely everywhere, so it was spending more and more time sitting on the kitchen counter, on my desk at work, etc. Inevitably I'd be sitting on the couch and hear my phone buzz with an alert and feel compelled to go deal with it. Now my phone is completely silent with my watch acting as the relay and notifier for only the most important messages, many of which I can deal with right from the watch without having to chase down my phone. If it's not important, it's easy to ignore and go on without losing focus with the task at hand.

Well put.

After a long day at work, when I'm at home trying to relax on the couch, not having the phone nag at me from across the room every ten minutes is a beautiful thing.

I have become a huge fan of the Apple Watch for my go to device. My phone is plugged in on my dock almost all the time and only on silent. I work from home 90% of the time and no longer need to check or worry about it chiming or ringing when I am on a conference call. When I am in the office, my phone is locked in my desk as our work-fi covers all floors above and below ground.

As I mentioned before, I wear my watch 22-24 hours per day and love the silent alarm and sleep tracking.

Hey, just being curious, do you wear your apple watch at home? it seems a little but uncomfortable for me, but i love the remote feature. how about you? and why?

Yea, I have to otherwise it won't count my steps and activity while I'm at home.

Yes, I like the remote control features ( especially SimpleControl that can operate my entire home theater). The Apple Music app is nice, too, since I have Airplay devices all over the house and can be in my bedroom with my phone docked in the living room and have it play music on my bedroom speakers. I actually get a bit more use out of it at home than at work. Picking up phone calls, telling Siri to turn on lights ( iDevices), etc..

Yes I wear mine all the time except when in sleeping or taking a shower. Over the Christmas holidays I was even wearing it to bed because I wasn't worried about making sure I charged it for the next day. It's extremely comfortable.

I put mine on first thing in the morning and take it off for charging when I get into bed. It's comfortable enough that I never think about it until I need it. If yours isn't comfortable it might be worth it to try a different band. I have three bands that I rotate between, and I think that helps avoid discomfort issues from long term wear.

I find my watch to be very convenient at home, just as it is at work, at the grocery store, etc. When I get home my iPhone usually goes on a shelf with my wallet and keys or on the charger. I can still get text messages and notifications on my watch. I can also plug in my iPhone to the speaker doc, play music, and use the watch to check the name of the artist and song, pause, forward, etc. I never even thought of that when I bought the watch, but it has become one of my favorite features.

While I do use my iPhone at home, there are times when I want to put the technology distractions away and just focus on being with my kids or doing something else. The watch is less of a distraction for me. It keeps me from missing an important text from a family member, or a reminder for something I'm supposed to do, but it does so without tempting me to browse the Web or play a game for an hour.

Wear it at home all the time. Reminds me to stand and be semi-active when all I want to do is laze around. Also, I don't have to keep my phone at an arms length all the time.

I have been wearing watches all my life, and before the Apple Watch I was a traditional watch guy. I have a rather sizable collection of quartz and mechanical watches which now lies dormant in storage boxes since I got my Apple Watch. My wearing habits are the same...put it on after my shower before heading out for the day, then taking it off when I get home. Just don't feel much of a need to wear it at home though it's incredibly useful all day while I'm out and about.

Many of you mention sleep tracking - I wear my watch from the minute I wake up, til I go to bed at night... Might charge it in the morning when I take a shower and during dinner in the evening maybe to test out sleep tracking if it's any good (miss it a bit from my Jawbone Up24)
