I only take it off to sleep so that it can charge for the next day. I don't find it uncomfortable at all. After wearing a Tag Heuer for years prior to AW it felt like I was wearing nothing.

That timer is incredibly useful around the house. And nice to be able to put the phone down but receive calls, emails and messages on the watch, check outside temperature, check appointments. Very handy.
[doublepost=1456214522][/doublepost]Reading this thread sure gives a different impression about the number of people enjoying their Applw Watches compared to threads where people talk about returning or never using them, or finding them useless.

The people that returned or don't like them are much more vocal. Those of us who enjoy the watch don't have time to gripe about it on here, we're out using it instead ;)

Before the Apple Watch I wouldn't normally use a watch at home. In fact, I'd take off my watch as soon as I got home. Now with the AW, I wear it all the time (the circles!) except for showering and sleeping. I love using the timer when cooking or for any activity I need to time.

I don't wear mine at home. While I'm going about my day I barely notice it, but at home when I'm just relaxing it's more comfortable not to have it on.

I agree. I don't find it uncomfortable and it could be because my old Omega watch has a heavy stainless band. While I can wear any of my AW bands all day (all of them are lighter than my other band) the bands that clasp together using magnets are, for me, the most comfortable because they adjust to the exact size I want. I have two of these types of bands now (third party versions) and will probably buy a few more just for variety.

I put it on first thing when I wake up and take it off just before I turn the lights off for bed. I wear a Jawbone at night to track my sleep. I feel naked without something around my wrist!

My watch is on my wrist around 23 hours each day. The only time it comes off is right after I awake so I can charge it while showering/getting ready for my day

I always wear my watch. The only time I take it off is to charge it (usually when I sleep), when I have a shower and when I do the washing up. Sometimes I even wear it when I'm sleeping. It's very comfortable. Most of the time i forget that I have it on unless I get a notificaiton.

I take mine off if I’m just chilling at home and watching TV and surfing the web.

I’ve found the AW is great for me personally when I’m busy and I can just look at my wrist. I’ve only had an Apple Watch for a month though, so that might change in the future with me wearing it more.

I know this is an old thread, but I wonder if people’s answers are going to change with with medical/health aspects of the series 4.

I bought my Apple Watch specifically for fall detection and the pulse monitoring/EKG. So I wear it as much as possible, especially at home, and even in the shower (I know it’s not recommended, but if I fall in the shower...!). I only take it off to charge it.

Usually only take it off when I go to bed & even then only for long enough for it to charge while I read. Been wearing a watch constantly since I was 10 so I feel naked without one one, even in bed. Only got my series 2 a couple of months ago to see if I`d actually use an apple watch at all, put it this way I`ll be upgrading to a series 4 44mm next year without a doubt.

The only downside is that my collection of G-Shocks just sits there forlornly gathering dust now...

I wear my S4 all day except in the shower and at night when it’s charging. I wear my S2 at night to track my sleeping patterns and heart rate. I have palpitations, so I have to wear my Apple Watch 24/7, in case my heart rate soars or drops too low.

To play contrarian: I only wear watches when I leave my house,...as soon as I get home I don't feel the need. Even having a Pebble hasn't changed this, as its main use is allowing notifications at times when I can't look at my phone. I can always look at my phone at home.

Curious if being able to reply to texts through the watch would change anything (i.e. If I would leave the phone and walk around the house with the watch).

Also, my habits basically negate any concerns about battery life outside of traveling.

only wear my Series 4 when leaving home. Don't really feel the need to wear the Watch at home.

...have to 100% agree with these ^^^ posts.

The Sport Loop is so comfortable and lightweight that I can't even notice that I'm wearing it. Until, of course, whenever I get a tap notification.

I've always worn a watch. Before Apple Watch it was traditional watches, which I'd more often than not take off of my wrist to sleep. Started with Series 2 as I was on the fence and recently upgraded to Series 4. If I'm not in the shower, if it's not on the charger it's on my wrist. The only exception are occasions that call for a more formal look, so back to the traditional watch.

This is my normal AW practice, I'll start with getting home from work:

When I get home from work, my S4 watch goes on the charger, and my S0 goes on. I wear the S0 until shower time. I wear no watches in the shower. After my shower, my S4 goes on and I wear it until I get home from work the next day.

I wear the S4 watch to sleep for sleep tracking, with the AutoSleep app.

S0 - Silver SS 42mm with Aftermarket Milanese Loop
S4 - GSS 44mm with Apple Sport Loop (Gold Milanese Loop for dress)

Other than showers, the only other time I am not wearing my AW is when I'm wearing my Rolex, which is 2-3 times per month.

Everyone is different and they have different habits. With all due respect, what’s the point of this question? Does anyone really care if a stranger wears a watch when you don’t, or vice-versa?

Well, to make it useful, some of us answered the why. For me it is having heart information documented, and I wear it for sleep for sleep tracking (I have sleep apnea, so I want my heart rate in addition to my CPAP information).

Maybe the OP will see someone's why, and use that as a reason to either wear, or not wear the AW at home.

I wear it like I’ve worn every other watch in my life. It’s generally the first thing I put on in the morning and the last thing I take off at night.

I actually find it very comfortable. That is to say, I don’t even notice I’m wearing it - until I look at it, or it taps me for some reason.
The first few days, if I’m remembering correctly it was quite a few years ago now, did feel a bit different to other watches, but after a short adjustment period all’s good.

I take it off for showering, usually, but not always, and to charge for an hour or so in the evenings while lounging on the couch. Otherwise, it is on my wrist. Do not disturb and theater mode while sleeping.
