I don’t know which intel you had but my 2015 gets hot enough to fry eggs, and everytime I launch zoom it sounds like I live next to the airport.
I dunno, I kinda miss the Intel Macbooks keeping my lap warm.

Anyone else lol?
During the winter my MBA is not cold but freezing to touch.
How is this possible? You must have a defective unit. It’s ok. M1 Max runs just as hot
There are plenty of posts that M1 Max targets just as high cpu temps as the Intel models did. Admittedly while under more load. But still. They will run hot as designed. How is this possible? You must have a defective unit.
Same lol was so happy when I sold my 16" and used a M1 Air until we got the Pros later this year. That stupid Core i9 used to run hotter than my heater! Happy I got rid of it.
What's upgradeable about your 16"? Why would you buy a Mac to run windows?I'll keep my TOASTY warm 16" i9 MacBook Pro...
WHY?
M1 Macs are totally NON upgradable
M1 Macs cant run Windows 10 or 11.
Monterey is a buggy and memory leak MESS
If you cant Go back to a MORE reliable OS like BIG SUR or Catalina or EVEN BOOT Windows your screwed
A $4000 paper weight.
So Lets wait and see how awesome and reliable macOS gets in the future??
They May even prevent you from installing any APPS that were not purchased thru the APP STORE like an iPad in future macOS.
So YEAH. I'll hold on to my TOASTY INTEL MacBook PRO. I like Choices. Not forced into something.
Although this sucks, a lot of Windows laptops these days have non-upgradable components as well.M1 Macs are totally NON upgradable
It can run both Windows 10 and 11 ARM edition via Parallels Desktop. And it runs them quite fast.M1 Macs cant run Windows 10 or 11.
For some people, yes. For many others, no. I've not had a single issue with Monterey since I've installed it.Monterey is a buggy and memory leak MESS
2020 M1 Macs can only downgrade to Big Sur. They can't even run Catalina. And you can downgrade just fine if you have an external USB. And if you have a situation where you need to DFU the Mac, you can get that version of macOS from https://ipsw.me/product/MacIf you cant Go back to a MORE reliable OS like BIG SUR or Catalina or EVEN BOOT Windows your screwed

It's been awesome and reliable since the day I upgraded from Mac OS 9 a million years ago.So Lets wait and see how awesome and reliable macOS gets in the future??

M1 Macs seem to be able to run 32 bit Intel apps. Strange side benefit of Rosetta2 I think...my 2010 MacBook air is running very cool and enjoying Mojave quite well
i don't miss Catalina's refusal to run great programs and the daily log in to iCloud.
