Because rumors. And they’ve been spot on pretty much. Such as iPhone 11 pro is a given at this point.

100 or more? I was thinking at least 300.

Here’s the thing. iPadOS is real now. Apple always releases new phones with new iOS. I’d expect annual iPads now.
iOS 13 and iPad OS were delayed remember, (to make iOS and all the OS's more stable)? And they couldn't wait until 2019 to release the new iPad Pros (that's 2 and 1/2 years of no new iPP,
so that's why they released the newer iPad Pros with USB-C. Think about it, with iOS 12 they were limited but the OS was solid, but no new features for the new features on iPad to use, (lol)
With iPad OS now, those features can be fully taken advantage of, making iPad Pros are 98% as capable as any laptop. :)
Sure, Apple may do a 2019 iPP, (and I'd have no problem with that) but it seems a little odd still. Kuo is like 98% right all the time and he says 2020 release along with other more credible sources.

I honestly just wish Apple was less secretive on releases but kept features and designs secret. We KNOW iPhones will come out every September (and Apple knows we know,) that is their flagship product so it benefits them for us to know. So why keep the iPads so secret? It's honestly pointless, and IMO hurts sales as if people know something's coming thats all the more promotion/advertisement for it.

Paying full retail is a tough pill to swallow on Pro’s now. Assuming a fall release, I’d still want to wait until the first good sale on the new ones. How many months would that take? By that point the current models will be available as Apple refurbs too, so I guess if you can wait, wait. Unless Best Buy has another pricing mistake, of course.

I'll be OK to buy if they either lower the price a bit or else bump up the base model to 128 GB.

heh I couldn’t even stomach paying a pricing mistake for one. They’re just too limited and not enough “pro” features to pay the difference between pro and entry. Apple badly needs oled in the pro line.

What’s it tell you that a 2015 mbp is offered significantly more for trade in value than a maxed out 2018 iPad Pro? Guess which one cost much more?

It doesn’t badly need OLED screens ... I’m platform agnostic and considered a Samsung galaxy tab S6 for the oled screen but still got my Pro... the LCD display is good on this. They won’t go OLED unless they can get a 120hz screen which doesn’t exist yet I think ?
