Don't buy an apple watch or you will regret it in 3 years, every watch sold right now (series 11, se 3 ans ultra 3) have the S10 chip which has the same cpu/gpu than the s9 from almost 3 years ago... if you don't want the series 8 case to happen to you then please wait for the series 12 !
Who keeps an Apple Watch for more than three years anyways? The battery grades pretty much after that the longest I’ve kept one is four cause I was waiting for a processor upgrade.

I've had my AWU3 nine months already and it's helped me lose almost 40% of my body weight since then. My priorities are elsewhere
I think this comment is a bit creepy given your avatar of princess Diana and her notorious history of eating disorders 😅

I've never owned the Apple Watch. Coz the battery life is so short. The watch is relatively expensive. And the watch is far too large.

My Casio is $15 and runs for a decade per charge, small and light.
My old Nokia had a battery life of about a week and was very cheap and tiny. Not buying a smartphone for those reasons seems like missing the point of what a smartphone is for. If you want a watch to tell the time and nothing but the time, sure the $15 Casio is great. An Apple Watch is generally not bought by people who only want to know the time from their watch I think.

The Apple Watch will continue to work just like the day it was purchased for 6-10 years without problem. There are forum users still using Series 2 watches with iOS 26.

How will they "regret" it? New hardware comes out all the time and those who bought previous versions won't have what new versions have. Watch OS is very hardware focused.

If you're trying to say - buy the latest chip design for longest OS support, then ok, but it's not like the watch will stop working - it'll work just fine for a very long time.

I'd also add, you can sometimes get amazing deals from Best Buy $100 off - and get a current generation Apple Watch for a really good deal.
I still use my Series 4. Nothing about a subsequent AW has encouraged me to upgrade. It still works fine with iOS 26 and my 16 Pro. Battery is getting very weak (67% capacity!) but the thing is nearly 8 years old.

I’m on a Series 4. I’m missing out on some newer features, but it still does what I need it to so I’m riding it until it dies!

I still have my original AWU going on almost 4 years and I still get 2 days of battery life. Processor speed hasn’t shown any signs of slowing down, watch feels like the day I got it.

What is it about them you prefer?
I've always preferred the look of Samsung watches. They resemble traditional watches more than the Apple Watch's square design. Add in the customization options and Wear OS flexibility, and they feel more personal to me.

Man, I HATE the Apple Watch repair depot.

A senior advisor at Apple authorized a replacement watch after submitting extensive evidence that my battery is failing even though it’s at 85% health. This took 5 hours of calls and days of gathering data.

I got the box on Friday night. Packed the watch up Sunday. Mailed on Monday. Apple opened the box at 10:30 Tuesday and mailed it back to me with no action taken 90 minutes later.

I open the box today and immediately, there is a new hideous dent in the side of my watch that I get to pair with my still-failing battery. This is the second time the depot has damaged a watch, failed to replace my battery, and sent the newly damaged product back to me.

Excited to spend another several hours to try to get a real resolution now 🙄

When I had unacceptable problem, I emailed Tim Cook and got a response from his executive action team. No promises, but they fixed me up right away. Bypassed all the BS.

Thank you! That’s my next step if my call scheduled for tomorrow morning doesn’t go well.

It’s pretty nice when tech sets up just the way you want it, isn’t it.

I may be done with Samsung and Apple Watches. I have so many other watches that I haven't worn in several years and I miss them. No setting the dates or times on any of them or recharging, they are solar and will recharge simply by any light and they also sync with the time server daily here in Colorado.

I still dont get the recharging issue - for me it charges on my breakfast / shower which is around 30 mins and then lasts my day easy - I know YMMV but I don't see this as a particular problem really in the grand scheme of things especially when usually my phone is charging too...

I would think unless you're prepared to dump everything for battery life and then just have fitness tracking not buying an apple watch extends to both google and samsung too.....
