If you are running an older release of MacOS(X) - like Yosemite and up - this might be of interest for you. It's a 64bit build of Dhewm3 1.5.1pre that doesn't need any extra libs, just the game data that goes into the base and d3xp folders.

Thank you! But theres a problem, it doesnt let me add stuff to it. I downloaded it and it came as a .dmg, ran it and then I cant Insert Files and when I try to run it, it immediately crashes.

If you want help you to need to expand on your hardware and what version of OSX/macOS your running. Doom 3 can run natively like a dream on Apple silicon or 64bit Intel with the dhewm3 game engine...

OG Birdman live in game, way more intimidating than the retail version...

He got the chainsaw, no fear in D3, got to get up close and personal...LOL.

Have D3 running on W10/W11, OSX, macOS, Intel & Apple Silicon. If you have an 8GB dGPU follow my guide and D3 will beat out many new games for the graphic's. If you dont we have solutions...

Yes, perfectly and you'll want to follow my guide, play Doom 3 like never before. No change in gameplay, graphics will blow your mind... Very much thx to H3llBaron countless hours of work to perfect.

Yes or install on a PC and pull the files. With the source port game engine and graphics pack you only need these *.PK4 files.

Rest you can ignore.

If you bought Doom 3 in the past on OSX that too works. Install, it wont run but you can pull the PK4 files. Downside is you wont have the expansion Resurrection of Evil.

Doom 3 & Resurrection of Evil runs flawlessly on Mx Mac's, hopefully we will get The Lost Mission into the fight in time. Can do a lot with the engine and the community is strong. Brought the original Birdman back with help from the developers... 👍👍

They really add to the mix in game, replacing the Hell Knights...

BFG is OK, but too easy a play. OG Doom 3 modded like this will set your hair on fire.

actually i was able to get the base files now, but when i installed dhewm3 on macsourceports everything is in Spanish lol which doesn't help but i can still play regardless. How do i change it to english?

fyi if it's in spanish you have to change default.cfg, dhewm.cfg and DoomConfig.cfg and search "spanish", change it to "english" and save all files then copy base file to dhewm application support folder in Library, to get to the Library folder you need to put it in you have to hold Option in Finder and navigate to "Go" which Mac has hidden this library folder for some time.

Doom 3 works and speaks in english, omg i'm in id software heaven.

@wh0128 you got it If you haven't is time to visit MODDB will blow your mind. Runs flawlessly on the Mx Mac's. No change in gameplay, graphics to die for. Is a simple install, the ID tech game engine easily copes thx to John Carmack's genius. This a very honest & genuine remaster of the graphics.

OG Birdman I prefer these over the regular Hell Knight. They were in the initial reveal at MacWorld over two decades a go. Best guess is the HW of the day couldn't handle them well. Lots changed since then

Been playing D3 since launch is one of my seminal games, one that I will never put aside. Get stuck hit me up.
