With the new iPhone around the corner, are you feeling any envy!? Specifically, if you have Xs or Xs Max!?

Even more specifically, I'm asking for those of us with Xs or Xs Max who are determined NOT to upgrade to iPhone XI.

Not going to lie, it's nice to have the latest iPhone, but I know my time as such is coming to an end. It'll be easy not to upgrade, but I think I'll miss being able to say I have the current "best" iPhone. Oh well though, as these devices are far too expensive to upgrade yearly.

I'm VERY INTERESTED to see the trade in values this year, as I think they'll be a lot more generous if Apple has learned anything.

At any rate, I know my phone (Xs Max 256GB) is future proof, so I take solace in that.
[doublepost=1564868970][/doublepost]I'm even going to say if Apple offered $700 or more on trade in I might be tempted, but I

Value of current CS or Cs Max around $450-500don't see that happening.
.

Value of Xs and Xs Max is about 450-500

Bragging rights..... this year aren’t worth much. Buy the iPhone only if you really want or need it

Xs Max second hand value is still high here in the UK.

It’s quite impressive for an almost year old model.

Note just launched and I can pick one up for for £650 sealed in the box and unlocked no trade in required, if I wanted one. Note 10+ retails for £999 in the UK. Going to wait for the iPhone instead.

I've seen plenty of 256GB XS MAX going for £700-750 now.

Only gonna get cheaper next month, so I'll trading in my 7+ and grabbing a bargain cheap upgrade!

Could very well be, not too far from £799 that I posted.

I think that would depend on if apple will continue with the xs or discontinue the line like they did with the X.

Good luck your going to love the xs, great phone.

If I do get a XS MAX I’ll only keep it for a year if the 2020 iPhone rumours are true.

To be fair my 7+ still works amazingly well, it’s just I fancy a change. I could just as easy keep my 7+ for another year!

I know what that’s like.
Going from the 7+ to the iPhone XS Max will feel like a huge upgrade, especially Face ID, if you do decide to upgrade.

Personally I’m not going to upgrade next year, with the current state of 5g, there really is no point. Maybe in 2021 with 5g part 2. 4g wasn’t really usable until 4g lte was introduced with voice over lte and some other refinements to the standard.

I have an iPhone 7 Plus and I'm going to upgrade. The lightning port is going bad on my phone from all of the plugging and unplugging of the cable along with the speaker being hard to hear people with. That and the fact that the new iPhone supports the 600 MHz LTE band that T-Mobile has deployed that the iPhone 7 Plus doesn't support which I hope will lend to better in-door signal performance.

I currently have a XS, not sure if I’ll upgrade this year or not. If they release a green XR with dual cameras I’ll be extremely intrigued but my XS is still a great phone. If I do upgrade however I might go with a Max this year as I miss the wider keyboard

Good to know, your swaying me more and more guys!

Is the camera a noticeable improvement over the 7+?

I jumped from the 7 to the Xs and then Xs Max... HUGE UPGRADE!!!

I'll be keeping my Xs Max until 2021 at the earliest. Don't need 3 camera's, prefer Qualcomm, and am not pressed about 5G at all. Nevertheless, I'm more than excited for the keynote surrounding iPhone 11 Pro this year.

However, being so close I would say wait, that way you'll have options in which phone you actually want to purchase... Xs Max vs. 11 Pro Max!?

You're going to love wireless charging, and as a fellow T-Mobile user, yes it's comforting to know my Xs Max has all the prerequisite bands to support the best coverage!!!

I just bought an XS last month and I consume media. I barely take any photos of any at all this past year unless I’m at a sporting event. Things I’m looking for are battery, screen (bezels and botch included), Face ID improvements.

I asked the wife same question when she wanted to buy an iPhone xs max last week. By asked , I informed her about the imminent 11. She said she didn't care. I probably would have though.

I think the question begs...

Is the new cool thing "not" having the latest greatest anymore!?

I wouldn’t say it’s cool, but it’s far more common and acceptable those system I think. I know more people with older devices than new devices which is a stark contrast to maybe 6 years ago when the latest and greatest attracted a big buzz. Smartphones in general are standard everyday tools and I don’t think they are necessarily the must have fashion accessories they used to be.

Also they have gotten MUCH more expensive, and more powerful. When the iPhone 5 came out, the iPhone 3G S was at the end of its life. With iPhone 11 coming out, there’s still many happy iPhone 7 users.

Everyone has a smartphone and many don’t care about brands at all. There is nothing cool about having or not having the latest one for the majority of people I guess.

I don’t think consumers generally care about having the latest smart phone anymore (Perhaps in some cultures it is). I think the Apple Watch has far more popularity in terms of having the latest device, because it’s partially a ‘fashion accessory.’ The reason being smart phones are not about having the ‘latest/greatest’ anymore, is because the price points have suffocated consumers from upgrading.

This is what I'm noticing more and more. People are simply happy just to have a functioning smartphone.

It's become more about having a window into their world, as opposed to the window dressing.

I think us geeks are the only ones who care about the hardware side anymore.
