Well it seems I am having trouble with things lately.

I got these and audio only plays out of one earbud at a time, never both. I paired each and Bluetooth reads they are both connected so I am at a loss.

I was able to get them to pair together with no issue. Read the manual.

Well hi All, thought I'd post this as may help - but i tried earskinz on the AirPods and still was too bulky and unforgiving for my ears. Also as background, I'm a bit of an audio enthusiastic, more use to deep-in-ear balanced armature systems like my 1200 USD AKR02's. Anyhow I also have the bragi dash which I use sony hybrid tips to make fit properly but have to remove them in and out of the case each time. Anyhow I bought the AirPods in malaysia and i love the case and size, so convenient, but i could not get these things to be comfortable in my ears at all. SO i try the earskinz and tbh they stay in better but just as uncomfortable. Anyhow I ended up using some foam covers off some 3 USD earphones that came free with something 10 years ago. I used a tweazer to remove some of the foam covering the sensors and now its perfect. Super comfy due to the softness, minimal DIY needed, sensors and taps all work and best of all, still fits in the case!! On the audio side I'm actually quite impressed with the sound, its different than the dash or my high end iem;s but the driver used inside seems to be pretty good. Talking a while to get used to the lack of noise isolation though. Anyhow hope this helps anyone who is having trouble getting these fitting. Good call on the foam!

Definitely "louder" due to the isolation but they do NOT fit in the case.
Out of curiosity, do the airpods charge with the case lid open?

The only guess I have would be Android outputs BT wireless signal louder than iOS but that doesn't feel right and goes against coding logic...
Digital audio data has the volume it was originally coded with. You can't "play it louder" until you convert into analog signal and pump it through an amp, without massaging the signal with digital processing.

It's possible this happens (say, some kind of equalizer function doing some funky stuff with the audio signal), but there shouldn't be. You would expect your audio to be played as-is, in its original form, unless you specifically use software functions to alter things... *shrug*

It did not.

And that was what I was telling him. But he insists it sounds louder and better on Android devices... doesn't make sense to me why that would be but I'm also too lazy to test it out myself.

Saw this on 9to5 from a reviewer:

"I’ve been fulfilling my role as reviewer in my office to verify how secure they are; headbanging, running on the spot, jumping up and down. I can’t get them to fall out of my ears. The AirPods barely move even when I’m vigorously shaking my head from side-to-side. Gravity pulls them around my outer ear as I tilt my head, still they do not actually come out even at 90 degree angles. I have no desire to buy AirPods clips or cable attachments, as the fit is fine for me."
my left one, is loos at times, and while it does stay in, its not as snug so have to blast the music. thinking to try the skins, although I will have to take them off when charging

Yeah it makes it a lot better. My left one is loose too. Not loose enough to fall out but they don't set securely and tightly in my ear as I like. I blame those old Sony Earbuds that were bigger from the 90s. They stretched out my ear!

I currently only use the EarSkinz at the gym where I need a tighter seal. At work I go sans. Though I feel like I need them when I'm walking outside.

I'm having the same problem with my right one. I only use them in the gym and it's amazing how snug and great the left one feels but the right one is a bit loose and although it's never fallen out I always feel the need to keep fiddling with it.

Waiting on some solution that can be used on it and not have to take it off to charge them

Just got my earhoox today and while the airpods fit perfectly in my ears now and don't move at all even when exercising, the whole not fitting in the case thing sucks. Especially since they are not that easy to take off and put on and I feel like they'd warp/break after too many times.

Although as far as charging goes, I believe that they are actually charging in the case. They can be pushed down just far enough and the case closes about halfway holding/pushing the hoox down enough for the contacts to touch I guess.

I've been using foam covers, but they also cover the sensors. Good idea on removing the parts where the sensors are covered. I'll have to try it on my pair. Thanks for sharing!

Ended up just adding foam to mine too and they're working wonders, holding them in place but also the sound is tremendous. Case closes easily and with my foam (which may be a bit more porous), the sensors seem to be working fine without modification.

Sugru did work on a previous pair which I exchanged, but haven't gotten around to trying it on my new pair; just going to stick with the foam covers for now.

Would you happen to have a link for the foam you used? I was going to buy this off of Amazon, which will hopefully work: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00DW1X5JC/ref=ox_sc_mini_detail?ie=UTF8&psc=1&smid=A1XOR6UUFBMJ60

I took my generic earhook style earpod silicon covers (Vojo Rabbit) and simply cut out a small hole where the in-ear sensor is (tip: used a click ballpoint pen nib to cookie cut the hole out fairly neatly).

Result: great success, AirPods work normally, and pause music when you take one out etc.

Do they fit back in the charging case with these on?

I am very happy with the fit of the Earhoox when wearing them - they don't move at all - but I can't charge and they are kind of a pain to take off and on (they won't last doing this all the time either).

These can be squashed into the case, not ideal.

However, they are not a tight fit, and slide off quite easily - so I don't mind putting them on for a run to get a "better grip". YMMV ...

What would be the ideal solution since it seems like attachments for improved staying power/comfort don't fit in the case.

Maybe something that is put on and off easily and can attaches to the outside of your AirPods case?

Hopefully it won't take long for a proper solution

Based on how many odd little headphone accessories there are (and how many I've purchased) from China via Ebay (foam tips, BT adapters, cords, etc., I'm pretty confident that there will be many options very quickly. AirPods are clearly going to be very popular.

I used a hard shell case from another pair of bluetooth earbuds I bought and keep the Ear Skinz in the mesh pocket and the Airpods case in the main pocket. I only put on the skinz for works outs.

I just wanted to add the cheap foam tips do help the pods stay in your ears and do help seal out a little bit of outside sound. They still fit in the case and they still do automatically detect when you insert/remove them from your ears.

I cant find foam pads anywhere locally. Maybe stop at my grandmas house she may have some old headphones laying around

I was sooooo disappointed that I couldn't make it work. I knew it was coming, as Apples headphones have never stayed in my ears. The earhoox and others were great! They stayed in my ears, even with head shaking.

But, as mentioned, you cannot charge the Airpods or put them in the case without taking the adapter off. I had to return them.
