.....Oh well at least she has a proven model that shouldn't have any trouble instead of getting a first revision that could have all sorts of issues souring her on macs.

I keep telling myself the same thing to reduce the pain.

Mine says the same. It now shows the devlivery date of Thursday August 2nd by 10:30 AM.

I think because it hits Alaska first and since I live on the west coast it will just be closer to me when it arrives on american soil.

You still have 14 days to return them if something really gets announced tomorrow, right? The same applys to the next tuesday and even the next one as you will receive them on a thursday.

Really? I sure hope so, I think in an earlier post it was stated that Apple will not honor that because of the vram upgrade.

EDIT: joebells beat me by a minute.

the vram upgraded one is customed ordered, but for the ram upgrade, can't you just take out a 1 gig stick and then the specs will be the same as the base model.

and also, why didnt you buy ram from a 3rd party supplier??

its all over the place in their terms of service the quickest way to see it is to login to your account and then click the order detail and then return items. It will show your imac as not being eligible.

http://store.apple.com/1-800-MY-APP...=browse&mco=2E8190B5&node=help/returns_refund

The first item covers us. That link might not work their links to their store only work for a short time I believe so here is a screenshot of it.

4god and my sister both have upgraded vram(about the only worthwhile upgrade I think) Neither of us has extra ram. The only other thing I would think about would be the wireless keyboard and mighty mouse.

But yeah I'm pretty sure the upgraded ram models still aren't allowed to be returned.

You should just wait, dont open it. Tell Apple you want the new model. Thats my 2cents because tech gets better and cheaper.

Yeah, I was wondering if I should just keep the box sealed until the 7th or sooner if something new is announced. I just might do that unless of course we hear something tomorrow or wednesday.

Unfortunately that won't(or at least probably won't) work I've read it on here before apple isn't sympathetic. Its a model they will be stuck with otherwise.

tell apple that you do not accept the terms and conditions when you first boot the system up. tell them that you have the right to refuse these terms and that they cannot force you to accept the contract by keeping the system and continuing the system setup.

this is only an opinion. this should not be taken as advice, suggestion, encouragement or anything else other than personal opinion.

I know it's still early in the morning here (5:56 am pacific time) but I was really expecting iMac updates today.
Although, I'm still watching the online store to see if it goes down.

...and a great wailing went out in the mac blog-o-sphere when it started to seem like Apple was going to wait until September for the new imacs.:(
