No it's screaming on 8.8.8.8 now, I'm nearly finished, absolutely flying.
In 5 minutes I've gone from 50Mb to finished right now while I'm typing, beautiful.

Great! You know the installation time is 15 hours right? good.

When it started to install it said 26minutes, I'm halfway through in 8, over half now. These SSDs sure make a difference.

Downloading it now, not sure how long it's gonna take. Estimate says 1 day.
Not sure why, the GM candidate downloaded in less time.

All done, now I've just got to check to see if my beloved Windows 10 is okay in its little bootcamp.

Sitting here in Sonoma county.. haven't seen the update come through for me yet when searching for updates on app store.. but I THINK i can smell the Apple servers smoking down south. :) Just going to wait a bit on this one I guess.

The release version IS NOT AN UPDATE.
You have to start the download of the full installer yourself through the app store.

Its an app. You have to actually open App Store, click the large banner, select download.

I need this file TODAY, not in 1, 3 or 6 days!!

Allow my connection to function to its limit!

Update on how it went, got the same thoughts going.
Yes, bootcamp works except that I can't change to Windows boot from the Mac side, I can boot to Windows holding down the Alt key. Once in Windows I can change to boot into Mac, so just that one glitch on mine, which may not happen with you, could be just a glitch with me.

200MB downloaded before 'Waiting...' malfunction.
Absolutely nothing downloaded after an attempted restart.

This could all be solved if Apple provided officially verified torrents, or at the very least used mirror sites for downloads.

@Synchro3 Australia, won't get any more specific than that.

That won't work. I tried my ISP, Google (what you're suggesting) AND OpenDNS. Same result every single time.

Plus, my Internet access isn't fast enough to download it in a few minutes. Hours maybe, if the servers weren't absolute ****.

No, not if you upgrade. It'll preserve your settings, including the wallpaper you had (not sure why you'd want to stick to the default).
