That's just it - its just a search interface. There's no context and there's no parsing the answers. You just get a list of web pages. Google Now is smarter in how it presents the information back to you and how it narrows the results down to a single (usually) answer.

How? I can ask a question with my voice and the answer comes up. Does Google Now not do that?

So does the Search app for iPhone. It shows the single answer on top and then actual search results below it.

Really? That Google Search app will set timers, remind you to do things, schedule appointments, turn your wifi on/off? Please show us all how to do this. We will be waiting.

No, but Siri will.

Who are you trying to kid? Google Now doesn't turn Wifi off or on or change any other settings.

I asked every information-based question the guy did in both videos and the app nailed it. The only thing it didn't get was the reminders, etc which I knew wouldn't work.

Oh, so you need two separate programs to do what Google Now does all in one?

Well Siri could open Google for me so technically Siri does it all in one too. I was just pointing out how the Google Search app does the same thing as Google Now sans the reminders, timers, calendar functions, etc.

Probably works better on an iPhone. I did all those questions and it worked fine for me

ummm, didn't you just say yesterday that the iPad and the iPhone were the exact same thing? They are both running the exact same OS. Please make a video of your test with it nailing every question. Would LOVE to see that...

Here you go. Not sure why the video quality isn't so good, maybe it's because I just posted it.

If that's the only thing you gleaned from the video, then you are hopeless.

For anyone else who can actually critically think after watching the video: Siri gets trounced.

It's an observation I made. You cannot say it got trounced when both had recognition errors. If Siri was trounced, the dictation would have to have been terrible and Androids would have to have been perfect.

In the sense that Android updates in real time and works in airplane mode, Siri gets trounced, but in terms of actual recognition it's about even (Google is better though IMO, just not in that video.)
