This is why we can't continue trying to have a conversation. This has been laid out for you, ad nauseam, and you ignore it, because you don't want to there to be hurdles. It's embarrassing, frankly. Fine. We're done.

My apologies, I didn't realize you were embarrassed. Apparently Apple didn't get the memo about any "hurdles". But you're right, the discussion isn't productive in the least. Let's put it all on hold and revisit it in the future and see if Apple does indeed release a dark mode, or if they don't.

Like I said in the first post, tvOS and OS X have a dark mode but all they do is darken the menu, menu bar and dock; not any apps are darkened whatsoever. So there are no elements in iOS that would turn dark.

All apps are designed the way the developers want it, turning all the white space into black would look horrendous with some colors, and recoloring elements/buttons would just confuse people. They would also need to have dark mode in mind when designing their app. Even if a jailbreak could do it, it's always up to the developers to implement it. Which I doubt it's worth the effort to redesign their apps, so adoption would be slow- which means your app switcher would look like mayhem.

I also like to say, that I find "dark mode" worthless. If you leave an app that has dark mode, you will still be shunned with your bright wallpaper in the app switcher or your home screen. Not only that, but the icons too, let alone apps that don't have dark mode, or have images displayed on screen (i.e. Instagram, Facebook pics, photos app, Imgur pics, and most of them are edge to edge pics, so they take up most of your screen real estate.)

The UI for Windows Phone is dark and Android is mostly dark. It's a much better experience for me personally then the white wash iOS. I'm not saying I don't prefer iOS, but I have been wanting a dark UI more than any other feature.

You don't sound like a very nice person.

No matter, there are technical hurdles that guarantee this will never be a thing. I tried going into it, and you stuck your fingers in your ears and whined. We're done here.
Right, now we get to "guarantees" about something no one possibly can guarantee anything about given that the future hasn't happened yet. Just more and more absolutes and extremes and hyperbole simply undermining of any actual reasonable points thst might have even be there.

dark mode isnt possible?

um its dark mode, a simple invert of black & whites only, almost has it right there. & theres easily tools to do this... yes its possible.

i remember google back years ago explaining why android had its general OS stutter & ios didnt, saying it would never be fixed. well then came "project butter" &... fixed mostly then, & as of now, android is just as smooth. well then...

But turning white pixels black and black pixels white is a complicated computer science problem. It's not something that will be feasible until aliens lend humans their technology in the year 2095.
